I'll drink to that Crusty. I gave up years ago. I have no idea what goes on here as I have so many filtered out, most days I just get pages of blank lines.
However, it seems things may be looking up at last - don't hold your breath though.
Forgive me if I'm not up to speed but why does everyone think the gov. are taking their time over this? Surely the department tasked with inspecting the farm out agreement wouldn't have wasted their time looking at it until the company had been given the go-ahead with the licence. I know we all think they have known about it for years but I can't imagine they have been sitting there waiting with it on the desk.
Thanks Matherdj. The house came back on the market and I managed to complete in 2018. I've been very lucky and now living the dream, in Somerset, by the river in one of the most picturesque places on the planet! I do try to keep abreast of what's happening on this board but must admit getting tired with the lack of news. I agree with you that (although they attempt raise our hopes now and then) the company has no control at all of our destiny and we must await the government's extremely slow machinations. Like many others I have at times doubted the likelihood of AEX survival but feel our assets and the country's need for them will inevitably see us through. I have each year transferred as much as I can to the ISA so that, if anything positive happens, the CGT will not be such a hit! We live in hope and the knowledge that there are now thousands of others in a far worse situation than me. Good luck to you all
I've had as much as I can take from you CP!
I have listened to your snide remarks made about dozens of others who, over the years have moaned about one thing or the other, belittling them with your vastly superior experience/knowledge, putting them down at every opportunity. You seem to behave as if you have no idea of the risks involved investing in a company like AEX although this is the same argument you have yourself used on countless occasions. Grow up, take it or, again as you have said before to others, b***er off!. I've got 26m reasons to be unhappy about this deal but I haven't thrown my toys out of the pram like you. Be constructive!
how times change!
I suggest you re-read most of your 9000 plus messages - for many years you have been almost as bad as the irrepressible sycophant TIPTOP.
Now you've joined the real world all you do is rave about how much the BOD have been paid and how you want to have them removed immediately - do you know so little about how to run a company?
" It has just taken the BoD 14 months for the penny to drop"
What did you expect them to do - give us a running commentary on how tough/bad the negotiations were going!!
Sheesh - I'm with the indian most of the time!!
