Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Yo, dog. Maybe read the FT for such insight. That's where most people would go to get the low down on current business news not some backwater message board. Maybe read an RNS or two if you want something company specific or more detailed whilst you decide.
Already in there, K. :) Laptop and old monitor set up and pottering away.
Obviously people can post what they want. But, like other often touted "taboo subjects", it's a zero sum game than can never be won, afaic. One would hope on a share discussion board it could it could stick to being loosely based around the company and related sector news. Obvs. going to be some OT stuff and a bit of banter. But when it comes to having to read peoples views of political parites and their various members it's a really, REALLY, big turn off, for me. Persistence will just get them added to the filter list. If they make it that far then it usually means I'm quite happy to miss out on their views when they might have something more relevant to say.
To be fair, I believe most people are usually forced into being LTH's by the circumstances not by a predetermined consious choice. Namely, a longer than anticipated delay in reaching an acceptable return on their investment. If that target profit was reached sooner it would make sense that most would have taken some or even all of it out at that point. Unless greed took over and they thought that there was even more to be made. I don't think anyone goes into a share thinking, right, I'm going to be a LTH here, regardless of what happends. The whole reason is that we are here to make money for ourselves and those around us, not just fund directors salaries. Ideally, both can happen and everyones happy.
GL everyone, regardless.
To expand on the my 12:36. Uncertain myself so selected all dates, Royal Courts of Justice in the top box and Court of Appeal in the lower box.
Came up with a long list with the option to view individual cases on the right.
Think I'll just let Chris inform us when something happends. :)
"factoring in cost of trade", really? lol. Guess that six quid or so is a large percentage and makes a big difference if you are only trading under £100. Lot of effort and BS for little gain, imho.
Stokey, thanks for the info and good to be reminded, but tbh, I don't anything posted by lamehamster is worthy of your time and effort. imho
Missed the mention of Navantia, Stokey. Thanks. TBH, was hard to stay completely focused for the whole thing. They do dither about getting to the point. And thanks for that reminder, K. Maybe pass it on to the Prof. who seemed, at times, maybe not up to speed with all the details. :)
fwiw, it was 79 employees and not 40. When they took over.
MAS Islander coming out of dry dock on Saturday and going back on to the SRQ briefly. Good chance to see the new paint job in all it's glory. Expect tweety linkydins galore. According to the harbour website it is then departing the SRQ that afternoon. Another cheap fuel run across the boarder or some required sea trials or all done?
Conflicting reports on The Braemar (Odyssey) taking its place in the dry dock straight away. According to the Belfast Cruise Ship Watch FB some have read, Via the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines facebook group, that their former ship Braemar will leave Rosyth on 19th April heading for Belfast. Whereas Belfast harbour does not have it due until the 24th of May.
AW still in Spain.
Have jetwashed the kayak. (and anything else that couldn't get out of the way) :)
On the point of support from the MOD he kept mentioning what sounded like "DMS". Didn't catch what was meant by that. During repeated mentions of required support what he failed to mention was any support, technical or otherwise, from other partners of Team Resolute, namely Navantia. They would certainly be more experienced and up to speed with modern practices than maybe some of the current Harland and Wolff set-up. Experienced Greybeards and newly drafted in appointees aside. What did stick out was the comment that if the y get it wrong then they won't get another chance from the MOD. Basically, they only get one shot, so do not miss the chance to show, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo! :)
Have been caught out being polite myself on a previous occasion so tend to be very watchful and maybe a bit over wary.
Obviously have to be careful not to call it and get it wrong. But so far, I've been pretty spot on so thought a nod in the general direction might trigger some caution.
The Imho's are out in force this evening ,bless em. All that account swapping must get confusing, imho. :)
Sounds like they are trying to justify a trade. Can't be very sure of themselves. imho
Re, thread. Fwiw my Pringle is justs fine LSE. Thanks for asking. Tbh, I thought I detected a whiff of something earlier. Kind of a wet dog smell. Might be nothing, but worth noting, I thought. Sorry if too cryptic Crouchers? ;)
BT, about as much a West Country lad as youself. Only by fact of residency.
Onlymee, I've been told before, NO CAPES!
LOL. The company making it is the company with one of their yards just across the water from the Arnish yard, on Goat Island. Have looked at them before. Got to love how this is playing out. Scilly is going to have more vessels than people soon. :)

It, or similar (net zero energy hub), have been on the cards as long as the Deepwater Terminal project.
But you "suspect" it's all for H&W. Is that not similar to assuming, which you don't do. :)
Like a lot of stuff on here, it need some clarification.
Although it could certainly benefit the yard at Arnish, should you factor in that the £99m earmarked for the "Stornoway Offshore Wind Hub" is in a partnership with the Stornoway Port Authority and not just H&W.
Plus, how many times can they spend the same £77m? Must have spent it ten times over the amount of time it's mentioned. JW said on one of the interviews that £25-£30m of it was being used for some panel robot assembly thingy.
Tame, yeah, just felt it a bit of an unnecessary jibe seeing as there was a continuing thread on the subject going on alongside. But, I guess we can disagree on the subject and still remain civil. Haven't looked at twitter for a long time, but yes I've seem them before. They can even sound quite convincing. But seem to be just short term traders using charts to convince others for their own gain. Much like the posse of traders that turn up here on occasion with all the same old spiel and rhetoric. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. But will give my thoughts and reasoning on the subject, when asked.
So no worries, X, all good. :)
Scaffman, more like this.
