According to bbc we could vaccinate around 500k ppl per month (projection) that’s 6m per year.. There are 12m aged 65 and above in UK.. 6m is roughly 10% of the population... the immunity length is unknown, the spread also.. how are they planning on building herd immunity by summer with these numbers?.. Unless the immunity will last for 2 years we will see another break out come October..

Doc, regarding the spread, yes I agree it it difficult to measure that but they should’ve attempted at least... but they chose the political circus instead to promote something that might (I am certain it will) backfire

They have no choice but to unblind it now, the discussions took long not because of the safety, but because of this.. And I am extremely disappointed that they caved...

Another sad day, just like in UK, FDA were put under immense pressure and they made a politically pressured decision. This will set bk the progress and we are basically starting from 0 now with regards to data collection to establish whether the vaccine stops the spread and the longevity of the immunity it provides... 2021 could’ve been a year that stops this mess but they just ****ed it up

Russia and Oxford to trial combining their vaccines.. this is a confirmation that we won’t see the Oxford vaccine anytime soon, may be in 2022.. Both of them have messed up the results and I can’t see any being authorised in western countries

100m in 100 days is a fantasy.. they will be lucky to achieve even 35% of that.. human error especially under pressure will make things a lot harder.. don’t like being negative but the reality is just that... markets will come to realise that very soon..

The reason is simple, no one is worried about the safety, they are worried about the future trial results.. if Pfizer gets the approval they won’t be able to carry on to find out how long the immunity lasts and if it stops the spread it at least minimises it.. that’s why approving this could come bk and make things a lot worse.. imagine the mess when they realise by next September that it doesn’t stop the spread, ppl will be forced in mini lockdowns etc
