That article, which you have previously posted, (led to further self homework) leads me to strongly believe the country has changed tact on vertical integration.
The original plan was admirable, but flawed by rosy business cases being promoted. Cold reality sets in when even China's banks refuse to support.
Shell spent $37m exploring, and Discovering Chuditch.
They had 100% confidence that significant gas/oil was present. (Only doubt was how how large it was, plus the three other areas of interest. Latest tech will, or, already has, revealed what sits on our licence.
Choice, bid for a new licence, or have a go at taking one on with a very positive history.
