All the best CAM, i might join you. With CHL losing the annulment i've managed to turn £22k into approx less than a grand. Went rainbow chasing and didn't follow my own rules and bankroll management. If i had i'd be a lot better off, might have even been in profit. I'll never know. Put what i had left into some dogs. Loved every minute, same as you CAM. Bought on spikes, sold on troughs, greed got the better of me. Got an outstanding Mrs and fab kids so all is good. Good luck everyone.
And MT, the post 3 ate your iced bun had me p1ssing myself.

Beverley Beaver....Lol!!! i remember that. I see i was close to last. HNR is now only 12.55, most of those are AIM shares and most have devalued by at least half. What a corrupt place AIM really is. The moral of the story is never hold an AIM share for longer than 5 minutes.
Mosh, do not, i repeat DO NOT, believe what is posted on the bulletin boards of the stocks you're interested in. The guys on HERE are fine, honest upstanding, genuine posters. However, on the other BB's it's full of ramping scum, deramping scum with ulterior motives who declare it's going to BOOM!! double up, ten bag etc. and you'll get carried away with the hype, over invest and when that RNS comes and it tanks to half your investment they'll be gone. On Hargreaves Lansdowne all the share information is there, past history, company profile, what they do, if they pay dividends, director buys/sells etc. Chartists tend to never be right either.
That is the only advice you need.
Great stuff guys with CLNR, i'm broke so can't even join you on your tips or recommendations. Keep up the good work.
RE: Pump and dump. CTAG was the worst i've seen on line. Small bio's tend to be jam tomorrow P&D. $hit bug was corker too, i agree.
As a matter of interest i was doing fine trading, doing my research etc. Then i made the mistake of reading the BB's and actually believed what i was reading. Started buying on BB posters advice....real newbie move i know, however, it took me ages to realise they had ulterior motives e.g P&D. Chartists, posters with knowledge, i thought these guys must be right, they know what they are talking about, i'll do what they do. Stupid, stupid, stupid i know but i got sucked in like a fool more than once.
The only honest board i've ever seen is this one. The only one. And long may it continue. Keep posting guys.
Cam: I preferred live too, much more successful playing real live people, i just couldn't find the time mate. Good luck in the tournies. Let me know how you do. Patience and 'Don't Tilt' :-)
I found share dealing the same as online poker in the fact...it's numbers on a screen and not money. If i had to physically go to my bank get the money out, count out the £10's and £20 notes and hand them over, would i really hand over £3K in pound notes for a few shares? same as calling a raise online, if it was physical money you'd think twice. I'd at least question my purchase more......and i certainly wouldn't have had a £15K pile of £20's and handed them over, saying 'there you go, i know it's a gamble but it's only money'.....when it's there in front of you it's different.
The virtual world of money is very dangerous, for me it is anyway. If i ever get my money back at some stage, and still decide to trade. I'm going to get a shed load of monopoly money next to my laptop, and before i trade i'm going to count it out in piles, look at it and decide 'Do i really want to do this deal' :-)
Hi Guys, great to see you are all live and kicking still and doing well.
CAM; used to play poker a lot. Got hooked and played online far too much, lost a quite a bit £3.5K but enjoyed it. Done well in a few tournies but the amount of hours it took affected my business, like you early hours of the morning when going deep....so managed to quit. Bit like trading, build up your bankroll over days/weeks then lose it (or get over confident) in one hand. House always wins, or the guys with the online programmes giving hand odds, rating players etc.
Biggest thing with both poker and trading is discipline, regular small wins, bankroll management etc. but it gets boring and you get greedy....that's when it crashes down. A bit like my CHL punt (£15K), if it had won the case i wanted to buy the Mrs an apartment abroad so i said to myself $hit or bust. If i'd kept my discipline AND RULES OF MAX £3K with any company i'd have been flying. However, i was greedy and lost most of what i built up over 18 months.
It was free money from a pension like i said earlier and i'm happy with the knowledge the company it was with could have lost the lot on my behalf anyway as they are all a bunch of robbers and it was going down year on year.
Keep an eye on the big banks in the coming months as they seem to be doing well....plus August is the deadline for PPI claims and any money left in their pocket is profit, due to it being ring fenced for payouts for years. Not an expert but a couple of spare billion going back in Barclays/ Lloyds funds is definitely going to help the SP and help the Dividend should they be one.
Warning : read the first half of the post before following any advice regarding investing lol!!!!
Camkite, sounds similar to me. I got 'wiped out' too. Was doing well, portfolio up 30% thought it was an easy game whilst being careful. Then the gambler in me took over as i thought it was an easy game. Took a huge gamble on CHL as i thought it was nailed on win court case, not realising corruption wins. Went on 'Tilt' (poker term) and started piling in to AIM shares. Lucky if i have 10% left :-)
It is all a game of poker. However, it was a pension i hadn't paid into that i found by accident so it wasn't money i'd saved up from earnings (so to speak). CHL is still battling away with the ICSID and there is always a slight chance i'll get some of my investment back in the next couple of years. Fingers crossed. If it doesn't it's been one huge learning curve.
Hi Nogog, if you're referring to my post VAL is currently 50% down from a few weeks ago as Y/A is dumping into any rise. Expecting an RNS which should be finished within a couple of weeks IMO. So i think it's worth a punt at the minute. If you read the previous announcements news is due on next phase of trials. Most funding and placings out of the way so clear skies when big sellers finish dumping. If it was my post you mentioned i can't see it dropping below current levels IMO, but i'm suffering a bit confidence so can't reccommend .
A bit embarressed to say i have almost all my holdings in VAL which has sunk like a stone over the last few weeks. Need it to bounce big with news and info regarding YA out (or below 3%) to give it a kick start. I never learn with AIM :-( However, i'm holding until the bitter end as i have faith in this one, stupid to sell anyway ATM as losses are too big. Good luck with the investments guys and keep the tips coming, you never know VAL may multibag and i'll have a few pennies to invest elsewhere :-)
3 putt, that used to be the White one i seem to remember :-) You brought back memories. I should of stuck to that arcade game instead of AIM, the odds would have been better lol!! However, i never put my 2p on the Blue or the Red horse as it only paid 4p, Yellow or White for me which probably sowed the seeds for my AIM gamble.
That's a really good commentary BB, made me laugh :-) Holding VAL until it gets it's next spike, hopefully Friday after the EGM.
Thank you BB.
Oops!! current SP 23.50 for HNR
I forgot to post last week, I'm going for VAL as it's currently 5.5 i can't win (already in the stalls at 5.00 with Balman. I'll go for a close second.) If same share not allowed i'll plump for HNR,
Still holding HNR, you chose wisely not to invest in that one Cam. Great RNS and it drops like a stone, it's getting sold into and absolutely hammered. can't see any rises until the sellers quit. Wish i had followed you guys into the last few tips you gave out, they've all done brilliant. Glad you all made money. I would bail on HNR but i'm sick and tired of selling then watching them rise up like a Phoenix after i sell :-) WTF is happening at CYP.....it's like a yo-yo on speed ffs. I've never seen anything like it 30+ bagged then left a few on the spike....then it rises again. They only got a half Mill deal with Merck, it doesn't even cover a years costs. It seems like a frenzy and the unaware are going to lose a lot of money. I can't keep my eyes off it, it will probably spike up again tomorrow. Anyway, i'm enjoying the posts guys,
Bagr does look good, hope you make a packet. I've no spare cash to lump in but would have with that news. It's only going up.
OMG that made me laugh out loud mate :=) I'm going to steal that phrase off you for the future. Yeah! me too.
Cam: You still holding CHL, i remember you having that on your first 10-100K quest (or did you do that on a dummy account,,,,can't remember) ? There's been a few developments today re: Relisting, funding etc. ROI shooting themselves in the foot with an article stating that 8,000 out of 12,000 licences were 'Unclean" Anyway, the CHL thread is here if you are interested: https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/churchill-mining-CHL/share-chat?page=1829&xref=chatnav_i_0_t
