The communication breakdown is really bizarre here. If you are settling a debt, you wouldn't just quietly shove the money through someone's letterbox in the middle of the night and run away, how was there no channel of communication open where they knew about it before the money was sent?

Frequent RNSs are a blessing though, some companies are very cagey about what goes on.
