This week is vitally important for the direction of the share price. It could go either way in my opinion. If it bottomed out last week then we got away pretty lightly- it would be bottom of the pack in terms of the size of the pullback going all the way back to 2004. I think the sentiment of retail will be what tips the scales.

I did buy back in last week but only at 10% of my original holdings. I am not planning on increasing that proportion with what I have now, but moving forward I will be DCAing into IAG rather than anything else.

Trump was a match that lit the tinder under the US stock market. The whole thing was/is insanely overbought and was ready to go regardless. Plantir is a great example of how deranged their entire market is. The FTSE and European equivalents might putter along in a dividend-centric, low-growth manner but at least they don't feel like a ponzi scheme. I think the era of American exceptionalism is over. And good riddance to it.

My instincts and past performance of the stock are telling me this is a dead cat bounce.

But the fact it has been so heavily traded recently means I reentered this morning. We will see how today goes. I am expecting a sell-off later after some decent momentum. Hopefully there is some money to be made today.

Buying and holding is not always the best strategy for making money. Nobody is here for any other reason that to make money. It's interesting to refer to people as "hyenas" for trading the stock- suggests you don't like people executing moves that make money? Perplexing- emotion should not factor into it. And it's completely beyond me why strangers would lie to each other about executed trades- what's the benefit? Anyway..... back on topic.

It hit 290 quicker than I expected- in fact it barely hit any kind of support at 300. I was quite shocked by that and I have concerns moving forward. Not sure we have hit the bottom.

There is nothing wrong with buying a stock with good fundamentals and holding it. IAG is that stock. In the long term there is basically no way you will not make money here with an entry point of 330 in my opinion.

It needs to shed 10% for 290 to happen. It dropped 7% in one day a few days ago.

Historically corrections have been much greater than what we have seen over the last few weeks. I think 290 is realistic. Not saying it will happen but it is certainly realistic. If it does reach it, it will need to break resistance at 300 so it won't be any time soon.

I am bullish on IAG over the longer term- which is why I am keeping an eye on conversations here and also the charts.

Keeping an eye on the charts for this stock has not let me down yet, despite some detractors here. Personally, I have timed things very well.

I am eyeing reentry at 290 so I don't need to deal with shenanigans at 300. However, my analysis of pre-covid (we are arguably now back in that arena) suggested a weak negative correlation in the SP change and the May-June period. Loosely, the stock performs poorly in those months.

I am basically disinvested entirely from the stock market at the moment, holding gilts and MMFs until the volatility decreases. However, unlike some people here I am actively waiting for a buy signal for IAG.

Oops - just checked, I dumped at 360 before

There has been a good amount of negative sentiment recently. I dumped my entire stack a few weeks ago at ~350. Yesterday afternoon it became pretty clear that someone knew something good- was an obvious buy signal. So I bought back in before market close and dumped again this morning.

I'm very happy for all of you in here, and I made some decent money too. But there is definitely still downward pressure unfortunately. Markets are not always rational.

According to who? The company, or some random peripheral looking for attention? Be very careful with that kind of thing.

That's a really tricky question and probably the one that everyone is asking themselves.

I have been holding this stock for years averaging around 140 and sat in the red for a bit of that. It was especially tricky to resist transferring into RR when it began to pick up (which I also held a considerable amount in). But as you said, the fundamentals have always been solid on IAG (bar the debt- which their balance sheet shows is beginning to come down). It was a good buy 3 years ago, and maybe it still is. PE ratio would suggest that there is some headroom. I would also point out that with the continual debasement of currencies the fair value when measured that way also has some more room.

My instincts are this will top out somewhere around 500. However, its an absolute crap-shoot with airline stocks. Takes one geopolitical positive or negative to change that by 100.

In all honesty I am planning to decrease my holdings before earnings. I think there is growing fervour, and while the last earnings was positive, it wasn't amazing. It is inevitable that someone will end up bag-holding on this company. Your appetite for risk will determine how close you get to that point.

Quite amusing knowing that IAGlongterm is having a meltdown this morning (judging by the number of "filtered comment" warnings I have been getting).

Much more peaceful now I have him blocked.

Getting sick of reading these petty arguments. I literally could not care less. I come here to look for insights that I may have missed.

Can the iag long-term person please stop posting. You are contributing nothing. You sold your position, and a few weeks ago stated you were now in "AI and crypto". That means you have been absolutely battered recently. You probably had a 5% day yesterday because you got humped so badly earlier in the week.

I literally made an account to say can you please stop posting if you don't have an open position (short or long, I couldn't care less). It's like reading posts from a child.
