To STOP 'whispering campaigns' you communicate. It's not terribly difficult. FAIL to communicate and the silence becomes deafening. We all want this to work, of course we do. This morning, Keir Starmer announced a new £1bn investment in manufacturing Blades for more renewable energy. But why are the Government choosing to move forwards with everything EXCEPT SMR's? Is it the cost? They need to swallow the bitter financial pill and get on with SMR's. But no. They, like the Conservatives, are just kicking the can down the road, in the hope that the whole thing will go away! It's crazy. Yet they very quickly also decided to spend even more £billions extending HS2 through to Euston. Errr hello!! Priorities folks! 😫

RLL93 - Close Brothers have set aside about £250m (though this figure does fluctuate a bit, depending on what you're reading!). Analysts have estimated the Sector's total compensation bill could reach £16bn.

Personally, if it really doesn't pan out well for Close Brothers, then I expect that their final Bill will be substantially more than they have set aside to date; hence why the Market doesn't quite know how far to let this fall.

However, it looks to me, like they are definitely factoring in more than the £250m currently set aside. . . . ATB

Quite frankly for a small 'Penny Share' Company, this silence is an absolute joke. I mean seriously!? How long does it take to publish a set of Accounts when you are this small? You have your 'allegedly' (for whatever reason!) hard to locate Bank Statements (as if we actually believe that that was the real reason for the mahoooosive delay anyway!), so RNS the Accounts for goodness sake.

An amateur effort this, with a rather nasty smell coming from this company. Sorry, but there just is. Something is not right here.

Badland - seriously, you need to understand that todays' results (update) were 'solid' and 'solid' may not cut it now. The big 'easy' wins have been netted, so now it gets progressively more difficult for RR (but it will deliver more). That's how it goes I'm afraid. Thin end of the wedge etc. You are going to need to be a bit more mature in how you 'deal' with these price fluctuations, as they are 100% normal. If you can't handle it, then sell. BUT this is how the Stock Market works and there are many factors that affect prices; often least of all, results! MM's play a ton of games and very often at the PI's expense; it's just how it goes. So, get patient - or just sell up. ATB

I have bought in here today (5 figures paid) but I wondered if anyone knows the reason for the sharp fall back in January? I appreciate the reason for the falls over the last four weeks, but I'm not clear on why it took such a tumble in January?! Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

This is still early days in the RR recovery story, so any dividend quite frankly, should be appreciated. That said, I would prefer that the cash remained on the Balance Sheet myself for at least one more Financial Year (to help aid further growth/acquisitions/pay off debt etc.), but I do appreciate that plenty of people like their dividends!

I'll bet you the Market Makers have a large fill order on the books at a prescribed (lower) price. So, they simply reduce the price to that point, fill the order and then begin to raise it again. May not be back to where it was today, but there is every chance that it will be by Monday. #darkarts

SprintRS - yes, the Balance Sheet is an ultra-key component here. Rewind three years and it was a very sickly patient in Intensive Care.

Fast forward three years and the patient is up & running and doing a Tough Mudder every day; the Balance Sheet is barely recognisable now. For a major global organisation that's not an easy thing to pull off, so hats off to everyone at Rolls Royce Plc - from top to bottom; because it's a team effort always. . . .ATB
