Agree with what you say, Britain now has a permanent navy base in Bahrain and Duqm Port in Oman could also be a strategic base if required and if approval is given by the Omanis.

I am also quite sure that the AM will be long gone from Dubai before (if anything) kicks off, though small boats harassing the tankers etc will IMO set the oil price a lot higher and make closer supplies more valuable.

Does anyone think Iran ( Revolutionary guard) will increase the threats to close the straits of Hormuz which from memory is around 21 miles wide at its narrowest point between Iran and Oman, so far it’s just noise from them warning the neighbouring countries and the USA and rest of the world and has as yet not really caused any spike in oil prices. I better gas my petrol RR or get a good pair stout boots.

Chevron I believe will not make adecision on Rosebank until 2019 also Chevron are truly committed to Kazakhstan and are presently spending $36 billionn on that oilfield and the final bill might be a lot higher.

My money though is on all the majors and the Chinese, lets see what happens.
But I want the oil to be flowing before bids come in and I am really happy that Kerogen are on board (London & Hong Kong based), lets hope they stay true to HUR as bankers for a higher price.

so if my mental rithmetic is correct its just over 7000 nautical miles from Dooby to Rotterdam and the journey is say 6 weeks (no Sunday off so 42 days) that's around 7 nautical miles per hour x 24 oras in a day x 42 days

Still doesn't answer the question though, but can 2 x 6mw engines do the journey in that time depends on many things and not least weight and the bow plough for getting through swell and are the engines diesel, petrol, gas, electric, wind or solar powered.

Let’s build a new Heathrow offshore it’s very doable and it would let a lot Londoners sleep better and also increase the value of their properties though might devalue a few in Kent especially when the 400 mph airport to central London is built. JK No problem I’m totally indifferent to him. I am actually a part of a business that employs EU citizens and our homegrown british workers, that makes Brexit more of a concern to me. But I hope for a decent deal but I’m not so sure the EU want to give one ATM in time.
