RE: What happened to 20p14 Mar 2025 12:02
So forget about the argumentative Seingred who would have you think it would be an eternity before to begin to mine Pepas. A good friend of mine who is invested here and several other goldies commented this which is most probably a more accurate assesment of opening Pepas as an open cast mine.
Shallow open mines can be set up quite quickly especially if we bring in a large company to develop and construct it for us which we might now be able to afford due to the rising gold price.
Surface mining normally entails exploration and definition which can take a few years but we will have the advantage of already proved up the area as a resource by the end of this year. Same with the Feasibility Studies which might normally take 1-3 years however we would again be in a position by the end of this year to determine if it's economically viable to mine. That only leaves us with Permitting and Regulatory Approvals which I'm not aware of any huge obstacles or delays with applications in the vicinity
At the same time obtaining necessary environmental and mining permits and engaging with local communities is something we have experience of and have done so for the drilling programme. So that's just leaves construction and development such as
Building infrastructure, camps and roads, which has already been done on a smaller scale when we had the JV so just leaving the processing plants, and equipment.which again could be done very quickly if we employed a reasonably sized and well resourced company to do this on our behalf.
