After announcing its prestigious return in 2020, The British Motor Show continues to reveal more detail behind the diverse and interactive show content, making this a show like no other.

The latest element of the show to be revealed is the unique Alternative Drive expErience.

The Alternative Drive expErience will be an interactive feature as part of the “Future” element of the British Motor Show, giving visitors the chance to get behind the wheel of Electric, Hybrid and Hydrogen vehicles to experience for themselves how the vehicles drive.

AFC Energy will not only be sponsoring the Alternative Drive expErience, but they are also the show’s official EV charging partner.

AFC Energy is a leading provider of hydrogen power generation technologies, and has just launched its H-Power EV Charger System. This is an important step in the adoption of Electric Vehicles as the revolutionary new charger provides a unique solution to today’s EV infrastructure challenges. Allowing off grid EV charging anywhere, at any time, through Fuel cell technology.

In order to showcase this technology, every vehicle taking part in the Alternative Drive expErience will be charged fully off grid by AFC Energy’s H-Power technology, meaning the event will be completely self-sufficient and zero emission.

The British Motor Show will return in 2020

After a 12-year absence, the British Motor Show will return in 2020. The event is due to take place in August, at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire.

It’s not going to be quite the same as it was, though. The last British Motor Show took place at London’s Excel in 2008 and was organised by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

Taking the reins for 2020 is Andy Entwistle: responsible for organising events such the London Motor And Tech Show. An exhibition website will be launched on November 19, where exhibitor and ticket details will be available.

The shares were raised from a single overseas institutional investor.

"The launch of AFC Energy's first hydrogen fuelled, zero emission EV charger unit next month means we must now prepare ourselves to respond to orders in a timely manner. The funding announced today supports these activities across both the sales function and supply chain with a view to accelerating our readiness for our deployment in 2020," said Chief Executive Officer Adam Bond.

Got it BB - one would hope they have been updated and submitted.....

BB I think the EP comments of 10 Dec state this is acceptable with monitoring during operation.

I can see both sides of this, one that they are expecting an updated environmental impact assessment addressing the issues they documented and unless that is done that they shouldn't be re consulted. I am assuming that has either been done or is in process. The other side, which is where I think you are coming from is that the they have had the requisite time for comment and that it is down to the LPA now.

Thanks Stokey. I was wondering about the DR comment on 90 day consultation period. From your post I get the impression that you are not necessarily expecting a further comment from Natural England.
