TonyFawcett, I agree with you as everything that i hear (or dont hear) from the government at this time indicates that they, much like us shareholders are treading water, awaiting something that they know is coming but cannot yet quite grasp it to save themselves....and us!
In a couple of weeks or so!
Just spat my coffee out, Chengdo4! Couldn't have put it better!!
News will come when it comes but could be anytime, to tie up with the USA, not just 07.00.
This should be a strong buy as we are active in strong or strengthening market places and have positions of contact and some influence with players in those markets and are fairly clearly making both sales and headway in creating various revenue streams and also forging new partnerships whilst creating these sales and consequent handholding that goes with both them and also the quotations that we are processing.
What we are missing is tough business nosed leadership and sentiment.
Cant offer much hope about the leadership ( decent sort though even with the potential fibs) but sentiment can and will turn at some point and it could be soon!
I am hanging on in here in that hope and i am fairly confident that i will get a return on my investment.
Had enough of all this macho listen to me, i run the board carp.
I don't just want positive reinforcement, much as it is easy reading but do find some posters alternative actions questionable even though they purport to be invested and interested.
There is some risk in everything, just ask the airlines or the brewery chains, but apart from that i firmly believe that AVACTA are in an enviable position that will be highlighted and rewarded for all on board in the coming days and weeks.
Genuinely switching you all off for the weekend. Should have done that anyway!
Good weekend bickering to all!!
Fair comment PAH100! Points taken. Thanks for responding.
PAH00 Any personal favourites amongst the cloud providers to target research on as I suspect your research is well ahead of mine?
Agreed that Jonsey paints a very vivid reflection of possible SP targets but certainly not impossible and he is not saying this will happen next week or next month.
He made a very good call on a "wild" ramp?? prediction on SAE yesterday that was entirely correct, in fact, he deramped himself as it went above his predictions so do not discount the man out of hand. I like that we can talk and share tips and thoughts and a little fact tinged fantasy is not all bad if kept in check and justified ie not...£5-00 tomorrow?
Good find guys. Very upbeat, bearing in mind where we are at!!
This is not going away. https://www.politico.com/interactives/2020/number-of-coronavirus-cases-by-country/
Highly unlikely it us but the key words in the governments statements are :
'We are tremendously excited to be able to support the government’s efforts for EVER MORE ACCESSIBLE, faster coronavirus testing.' suggesting that they are still looking for more accessible!
They have to be doing something while they are waiting for us!!
Don't look in much any more and have sold a few of my tarnished golden tickets to make some money while waiting for WSG to get noticed but i really feel that this time we will finally add some real value to the company.
Even if we do not make a king's ransom out of all of these small COVID related sales, we will have attracted a lot of interest which could lead to all sorts of other opportunities, hopefully none water based other than port side!!
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/may/21/boohoo-founders-team-up-with-biotech-firm-for-covid-19-home-test-kit-uk-july
A 10-minute home saliva test for coronavirus is under development in a deal struck between the billionaire co-founder of online fashion brand BooHoo and a Cambridge-based firm.
The antigen test, which would be available to buy, will look similar to a pregnancy test but will use a saliva sample rather than urine, and is designed to give a result within 10 minutes.
Current NHS home test kits rely on swabbing the tonsils and nostrils, which can be uncomfortable. The not-for-profit research group medRxiv, a preprint online platform that is backed by Yale University, posted a recent study, which found that saliva was more sensitive for detection of the virus in Covid-19 patients than nasal swabs.
The test kit is still in development and needs to be approved by regulators, but the company expects it to be available in the UK in July. Regulatory approval will also be sought in the rest of Europe as well as in the US.
On Wednesday, Cambridge-based Avacta signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Medusa19 , a venture set up by Mahmud Kamani, a co-founder of Boohoo, and Richard Hughes, a former non-executive director of the online fashion brand, who are also shareholders in Avacta, to sell the tests to consumers online. Medusa19 will also have non-exclusive rights to supply the tests to businesses for workforce screening.
Alistair Smith, Avacta’s chief executive, said the price of the test would probably be similar to a commercial HIV test, which cost about $30 (£25), but would be lower if health organisations or businesses bought it in bulk. The company said it had had inquiries from firms that wanted to test staff to ensure they are healthy before they return to work.
Avacta is looking for more partners to make the test strip. Smith said millions of tests would be needed each month across the world as countries emerge from lockdown. “The potential size of this market, and the expected demand from businesses for workforce screening, is substantial,” he added.
The Avacta test is believed to be the world’s first rapid saliva-based home test kit. In the US, a saliva-based test developed by Rutgers University’s RUCDR Infinite Biologics firm received emergency approval from the US regulator at the end of April, but the samples have to be sent off to a lab for processing.
Further work by Avacta found that the Affimer reagents it uses block the interaction between the coronavirus’s spike protein and a receptor on human cells to which the virus binds, and may have the potential to prevent infection. The company is looking for a partner to develop an Affimer therapy.
Kamani and Hughes said: “Given this test will be saliva-based, it could be used in airports, offices, factories and in the home environment, providing a result within minutes and with no requirement for medical supervision.”
Spbhoy: Spot on at $30 price to consumers has been suggested by AS, not cost price to manufacture as some others are alluding to. The world inc UK and US governments are waiting for us to produce this fast inexpensive and easy to administer test which will blow all others out of the water so to speak!
Agreed Wiggly A second independent opinion, if you like.
This blocking therapy works!! Come and get us, Big Pharma.
RD Brilliant. Nearly spat my tea out.. I am definitely going to try your investment strategy as it sounds like it may work!!
This board swings so much from being an absolute joy to read with several very well informed and interesting posters who i feel are genuine holders across to absolute drivel and unsubstantiated de ramping and scaremongering from sad t###s who really need to get a life instead of wasting ours by them posting on here...We really do not need their very kindly donated ( irony) advice, thank you! We have, in the main, done our research and made our choices which will soon enough prove to be the right ones i am certain!
Its not over till the fat lady sings although to be fair, there are an awful lot of new fat ladies on here currently trying to sing their deramping little hearts out.
Sorry, Spbhoy! Sensitive day!! Agreed, a solid and imho wholly honest presntation. It is what it is and it will be great!
Spbhoy. That was me and he did say ' The test is working' What is your issue?
