My opinion, several things have happened.

Share dilution
Threat of legal challenge
Numerous large holdings being sold piecemeal

MMs have been playing with the share for weeks now, although oil shares do not act as they used to on the run up to spud you would have expected better than where it is now, the FOMO alone should have seen a rise.
This share would have likely got looked at by the FCA if it was on a different index. I believe the MMs have over reached themselves, but I am not smart enough to prove it.
