What’s the reason for this latest performance against all the good news?

I’ve done deeper research and I think the sp has dropped is because the underlying profit has dropped and unfortunately this government have increased NI, hence making it less profitable for the business.

I’m at a loss with the current share price, because after the last trading update in May the sp rose accordingly to growth etc. and now after this trading update and all the buybacks, the sp has dropped. This truly makes no sense to me.

Because of the buybacks and then cancellation of its shares, is the company in actual fact devaluing itself?

Yes it certainly was a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Fortunately for me I did not lose my money, but potentially lost a lot. What this share has done tho is instilled in me to never invest in an African project.

I hear you @ Sturm, like I said in my previous post, I’ve not come across a stock where buybacks have had the desired effect (except RR), that’s not to say I don’t agree with your reply. Lets hope this time around it will show me differently so everyone can say ‘there you go, stick that in your pipe!’

Buybacks just never seem to have the desired effect.

The only time I recall them having an effect is with Rolls Royce, unfortunately I’m not a holder of those.

If it’s correct SC are still selling, then mm’s will be filling in an order in an orderly fashion.

I personally don’t think we’ll get a premium deal, having been in this situation before I think we’ll get offered the last 30 average price. Somehow we always get shafted here on Aim.

@tony,right, upon receiving forms for instruction from Jarvis, and reading all the attached information regarding the proposed takeover etc., I know I am ignorant in a lot of it but I am going to go for 100% get shares. I must correct myself in thinking they were short of cash and therefore an equity raise would be forthcoming but upon reading all this I feel that they will do extremely nicely, especially with the acquisition of I3e. Hello Tony, well I got an e-mail off ‘Wall street trader’ and looking at their risk ratio etc. it just didn’t look too good.

I personally fear an equity raise in the near future for Gte, they really aren’t performing too well.

An excellent point Jezzoo, because I for one kept buying shares on the news updates that the company was still progressing and building its business.

I’m left somewhat upset that Majid did this, but I’m also not going to lay all the blame on him, as that is the risk we take with investing/trading on AIM, sadly.

I understand people being somewhat annoyed by the present offer etc. but just think for a moment about what you would do if an offer like this came your way? Now I’m not defending Majid because Gte have been very clever in coming in now at rock bottom prices, market value etc.

What’s going to happen if this does not get voted through, are we going to have a Ceo who doesn’t want to be here anymore, and what of the future?

As I’ve stated earlier, I’m down in value as I’ve been topping up as and when I could because I believed in the long run (more fool me)

Unfortunately for me this t/o is still below my average price, my misfortune.

It’s not a “steal” as someone recently just said, but it certainly is a very good opportunity to “buy us out” as we’ve all been saying for quite a while now.
