Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Hollybean, Both GH just before he left the company and SD since he has taken over the reins have emphasised that Scallywag is 100% GGP owned They will both have a good idea of what they are likely to find as a result of further drilling. I certainly don't think either of them would be stressing we own 100% of a 'duster'. GH also said after the first three drill results came out that "we are going to be pushing forward with Scallywag, we’re still convinced there’s real opportunities there on that licence". So he definitely doesn't think in negative terms about Scallywag and I don't think some of our more knowledgeable members of this BB do either. So this gives me (whose knowledge of geology could be written on the back of a postage stamp) reasonable confidence that we will eventually see some good results at Scallywag. The four outstanding drill results may, or may not, hit the 'jackpot' but what those results are likely to reveal is a lot of further information about where the drilling should take place in order to find significant mineralisation. Remember GGP are good at what they do and they wouldn't spend a lot of money on further drilling at Scallywag unless they think it's likely to be financially worthwhile.
Thanks Bamps and Paddy for the useful information. Like so many investors I really appreciate all the effort you both put in to keep us all informed on all matters GGP.
When you look at the size of Scallywag and compare it to the comparatively minute Havieron it's little wonder that the first three holes drilled at Scallywag didn't hit the motherlode. To have done so would have been almost miraculous.
In that respect it's worth remembering the interview that GH gave to BRR on 21st January, 2021 following the release of the first three drill results:
"Today we reported the first three holes of a seven hole programme at Scallywag and what we’ve seen, and which I think is very interesting in these results, is that we’ve seen mineralising fluids moving through the region where we’ve drilled these first three holes. So, we’ve seen mineralising fluids containing gold, copper, bismuth, silver, typically the pathfinder elements that we’ve seen at Havieron and which we wanted to see and we’ve seen them moving through. They haven’t deposited in the sort of quantities that we would have hoped for here but obviously seeing here them begs the question where is the source, where are these coming from and, sort of, we have a view that the source of these fluids is relatively nearby and we need to do more work now on our models to sort of identify other targets which obviously we have also been doing in the background and as you’ve seen we’ve announced a lot of other targets today…. Clearly, this is early stage exploration, this is our first campaign at Scallywag and in the first round of any early stage exploration what you are really looking for is to try to get a sense of the rocks and what’s been going on there and is it something that’s a write off or something that’s worth pursuing. I think what we’ve seen today with this is something worth pursuing. We’ve seen these mineralising fluids moving through and in many ways I think our confidence in the region is reinforced. Ok, there’s some big mineralising events going on here and it’s just a question of continuing to follow up and continuing to put, you know, one foot in front of the other and doing the work. …As I say, off the back of today we are going to be pushing forward with Scallywag, we’re still convinced there’s real opportunities there on that licence plus the licence at Rudall….. "
Sounds good to me and I'm eagerly anticipating the result of the four outstanding drill results.
I've just topped up at 20.5p as I thought the opportunity was too good to miss. Then as I watched the trades come through I wondered why so many people seemed to be selling. Then my buy came through shown as a sell, so how many others are there like mine I wonder.
Well done, Mickey. The more shares that get into sticky hands the better. You got quite a bargain I think.
@Panama
I agree entirely and I think the sp fall since the Scallywag results were released has been way, way too much as GH has said. Also, just as a reminder of what he said in his interview on BRR Media on 20/1/2021 following the Scally results. This is my transcript of his replies to the questions raised:-
"Today we reported the first three holes of a seven hole programme at Scallywag and what we’ve seen, and which I think is very interesting in these results, is that we’ve seen mineralising fluids moving through the region where we’ve drilled these first three holes. Far from being pessimistic about the results he appeared reasonably optimistic and that's good enough for me. People need to remember that GGP are very good at what they do. Have a little faith in what GH has said in that interview and also his tweet today. He hasn't let the shareholders down to date and I very much doubt he would ever try to mislead us. GLA
Kevin, I'm doing my bit in the fight back. I bought some more this morning. I just wish I had some more 'ammunition' at the moment to add to the fight! Perhaps others in a position to do so can 'do their bit'. If you can't add shares then, if at all possible, try to hang on to them. Don't surrender too easily. GLA
If it's good enough for GH it's good enough for me. I've just topped up again as I think this is a bargain at the current level. I don't think opportunities like this come along very often. Like many others I didn't think I would ever get the opportunity again at the present sp. GLA
How many people feel so, so glad they topped up after the Scally results came in? On the other hand how many are sick as parrots that they sold their golden tickets?
Well done to everyone who stayed strong.
TLSA now trading at $4.11 on the Nasdaq which equates to £1.49. Can't remember when Tiziana was more expensive across the pond.
I told myself I had enough GGP shares . Then a little voice in my head said "you can never have enough at the price on offer". So, I bought some more this morning at 27.00p . My wife likes to go to the sales shopping and I'm liking the fact that the GGP sale is on now. Quite a bargain I think but everyone to their own view.
Just a reminder of the following comment by GH following the last drilling at Firetower and mentioned in the RNS of 21 January. 2020:-
"These results finalise a positive set of overall drilling results from our 2019 Firetower campaign. By confirming continuity of mineralisation over an extensive strike length of more than 200m, we have successfully moved the project up the value curve.
"We are also particularly pleased that our first drill programme at Firetower East has now clearly demonstrated the potential for a VHMS system. The intersection of new base metal and gold mineralisation 500m east of Firetower has immediately created prospective new target zones between and along strike from the two prospects".
"The results act as further evidence of the strength of our portfolio and provide us with well defined parameters for further exploration at the Firetower and Firetower East prospects."
It would be beneficial in my view to see some further exploration at Firetower to see just what we have there. Also, as mentioned by someone else, it would be silly to divest when the price of gold is certainly more likely to rise, and probably substantially, than it is to fall.
One of the little niggles I had in my mind until recently was that we could get bought out for around 50-60p. I didn't want that because I see the sp going quite a way beyond that given a little time. Whilst I have no idea what that sp will eventually be posters on here who are very knowledgeable are expecting to see a substantial increase in due course. So anyone buying in over the last few months will do well in my view if they 'sit on their hands'. There is always risk involved in any share but this share is less risky than most and that needs to be borne in mind. However, if someone wants to take a risk that they could do better elsewhere then that's up to them and good luck.
As always GH gave the impression of being very professional, efficient and assured. He also always seems to have investors interest at the forefront of his mind. In addition I also like the fact he seems very down to earth. How many CEO's have you heard say at an AGM it's a shame he can't go down to the pub for a beer after the meeting?
I think the fact that they are involved in Tek tells you that they are taking Salarius very, very seriously. Going to be an exciting few weeks ahead. Get ready for more sp action than we've seen for quite a while.
Coach, will do. I really can't understand anyone wanting to sell at the moment except through necessity. I think the sp has quite a way to go yet from where it is today. The RNS this week certainly eased the situation I think regarding a possible takeover of the company on the cheap. It also eased concerns about future funding so it's very much derisked as far as I'm concerned. The future's bright as they say. I'll certainly continue to sit on my hands.

The only people who will listen to derampers on this bb are those that haven't read the RNS's and haven't watched the video's where GH or CB speak so positively about the future. They also haven't followed various excellent posters on this board who contribute so much clear evidence of what we can realistically expect from this share in the not too distant future. I'm a relative newby having only bought in from May onwards but no negative comments from certain individuals who seem to appear at weekends are going to make me lose faith. I'm here for the foreseeable future and I'm very excited about where this share price is going. I'm sure many others feel the same way and will want to hold on to their 'golden tickets'. It may well be an exciting week or two coming up.
With the Nasdaq at 2.98 dollars at present that's the equivalent of £1.12p so quite a bit of room for movement. However, which index will move towards the other?
I was quite shocked when I saw the extent of the drop. After that initial reaction my next thought was to buy some more shares. Unfortunately, it took me quite a while to get a quote and the sp had risen quite a bit but still a fantastic bargain in my opinion. Nothing has changed detrimentally since my initial research into the company we are just further down the road to the company reaching its potential. In fact I was going to buy some more shares at a price well above the one I managed to obtain. As they say, every cloud has a silver lining. Good luck to all those who hold on through all the turbulence.
Thanks Bellers. It does seem so strange that HL, Halifax and LSE (certainly the BB's) were all down. The market was rising so fast after the Pfizer news and that's when so many people wanted to take the opportunity to buy. On the other hand many with Covid19 related stocks were probably trying to sell as the sp's dropped quite a lot. Still, GGP looks like a buying opportunity in the morning for those people who have done their research. Let's also hope for news soon on S'wag to get the share up to where it belongs.
Thanks for that Sanibel. I have already raised it with them and expressed my concern. Certainly things like that don't fill you with confidence. It will be interesting to see the response.
