Ok Kiwi low income. But lets put this into prospective, a proportion of the UK claim they have no money, but are able to run an expensive mobile phone, smoke 20+ cigarettes a day and drink like fish.
SO once again VAT would be the fairest tax as those that are doing the things above are luxuries and not necessities! We make choices in life, when I was struggling financially I gave up cigarettes, booze and going out. My main priority was a roof over my head and food.
So speaking as someone who would see them selves as 'lower class' VAT is the fairest tax!

Disagree, the weathlier will always buy the new car, TV, fuel etc they need, a VAT increase will not effect that. The lower class are more worried about food and getting a meal on the table. A large amount of food is VAT free. So again, the fairest, simpliest and most effective way of generating revenue.
It would also be greener which is a topic at the moment as if VAT increased this would duty and inturn mean less 'local journeys'

The fairest tax is and has always been VAT, if you don't buy something you don't pay the tax, if you are buying you pay. The easiest and simplest way would be to put VAT up to 22%. why they need to complicate things is beyond me.
If people want to save thats their choice, they do not pay more tax.
If someone wants a fancy new TV they pay the extra tax.
Simplest, fairest and most effective way of generating more revenue.

JWDd you have a very narrow minded view. This drug is NOT just about COVID, this drug is NOT just about the next year or two years. This drug WILL be used if successful against respiratory viruses for many many years to come!! Influenza has been around since the 1920’s! COPD is not going anywhere soon, Asthma is not leaving us soon. They will be many many more COVID type viruses which we WILL be able to assist with. SO none of the numbers are pipe dreams they are realistic! It is just a matter of how many month, years it will take to realise those figures. Clearly you are here for a quick buck!

JWD we always here things like that. The share price and the market cap are two different things! If the share price got to 400 plus dollars the market cap would be 60 Billion so NO it wont get that high, BUT it could get north of £10 a share in my humble opinion!
