I had an email 2 days ago to watch any imax film on 22 April for 3 quid. As I didn't get the chance to watch avatar in the very cold winter we just had I booked it. Guess what all tickets were sold out barring 4 separate seats, so bought 2 separate seats. So there are about 50 venues with 4 films being shown with a capacity of 100 on each screen. So 50 x 4 x 100 x 3 quid, 60k min revenue to be made on one day, its not much given house nut rate of 50%, but its a start. Then revenue from business as usual for all other films being shown including the surprise hit Mario.
I'm wondering if Mooky is rejecting good offers as may be kicked out of being a majority shareholders? Is he that selfish?
I'm surprised that a deal hasn't been struck with the likes of (or a consortium) netflix, amazon, apple, disney, Sony, comcast, time Warner, etc. Makes so much sense for these guys buy for 10bn for a business that they can use to their advantage as they end up keeping the house nut to themselves, price tickets more competently and bring audience in, set up shops inside the cinemas that sell exclusive merchandised goods relating to latest films, enter the hot dog business, what's not to like when it's a small price to pay for these well capitalised mega companies?
That's fair enough about the 1000% increase, but that was only mentioned last year. Even during pandemic the lowest was 2.20p, and since 2008 the share price has been far far higher for most of the time. I guess there is an element of share dilution will need to look through their accounts when share dilutions happened etc. But given it still makes profit, the share price is still far undervalued.
