AGM needs to move things on - one way or another. Continuing dissatisfaction and uncertainty is helping no one here.

Agreed, but they did say 2-3 weeks on the investor platform interview - although am sure they would like it out before Thursday’s AGM.

The debate should give an opportunity for more serious politicians to make some of the positive statements eog have been asking for to get investment.

This is an interesting sentence - and probably as close as the review committee were allowed to get to saying “We may still have our own gas”!

@brezhnef - it had to exclude it as a possibility - that was set out in the TORs that Ryan issued. It’s how politicians react in Ireland to this paper that will tell us what’s really going on.

If only words and good intentions could keep the power stations working, then Ireland would be a world leader with this report. Will be interesting to see how the rest of the Gov responds to ERs wonderland. Anyone know how to access the Annexes listed? The consultation and responses could make interesting reading - remembering that the terms of reference for this review specifically excluded even considering the possibility of using indigenous gas supplies to meet the shortfall/security of supply challenges. I imagine EOG will want to comment on the report to give their take on what to expect next.

Thanks for the reasoned replies guys - appreciated. For me it’s just about trying to put any emotion aside from an investment decision and balancing outcomes and timings. One thing I would argue though is that it is important to have an Irish Chairman leading the charge in Ireland - whether we think it should matter or not - so don’t want to lose Brian by design or accident right at this moment!

Isn’t it wrong time to try to change whole Board (if you incl W and B) and lose their relationships with key Irish players - what more would Ryan need to brush away the extension? Surely better to get it in the bag or have it refused - then it’s a much easier decision for shareholders to make.

Agreed Joyride. We need to be careful that in our frustration we don’t talk ourselves into a lowball bid derampers heaven. Wressle has much higher value than reflected in SP and production certainly looks a lot higher than I expected. Ireland may yet be a monster.

Also confused about why they haven’t applied for planning permission for gas to wire/gas to grid before now. Seems to me it doesn’t matter what the cpr says we have always known there’s lots of gas that will need to be managed and monetised. Why is it necessary to wait for one big planning application - would have thought in current situation a gas based application would sail through - then at least we would know we have that in place.

I had wondered if Heyco had given eog operatorship of Cloughton in a deal to keep hold of Wressle - but from what they said Cloughton sounded a long way away from anything potentially value adding happening.

I think you are probably right there Prowler. It’s the disappointment for me that they weren’t more proactive about tackling the discontent they must see is there, which will be doing the SP no favours at all. It clearly goes beyond the usual grumbling that you find on all BBs - there is a history of increasing votes against the board which they seem to be ignoring which is dangerous for everyone imv. As for their views on Egdon time management, seemed pretty clear that they were incredibly frustrated by it - how incompetent was it of Egdon not to get all the equipment needed in time before stopping production! What I don’t understand is why neither Eog or Ujo seem to be able to do anything about this consistently poor project management by Egdon.

That’s not the impression I’ve got from WH presentations before - he’s better without AS. Still don’t seem to get the connection between pay and performance as shown in the SP. Not enough to say “safe custodians of shareholders money” - you have to show how you are aligned through practical measures.

Great news for EOG - whatever the final figure looks like a very nice ongoing flow of funds. Just why couldn’t they have managed comms about this project better in getting here?

Means that reasonable planning permissions more likely to go our way - although that does presume that Egdon will ever put in a planning permission.

@Biggleswerf. I’d noticed the silence there too, but had presumed that as it was a Baker Hughes JV they had probably quietly dropped it when oil and gas came back into fashion after Ukraine invasion. Would be good to hear what has happened just so we know.

Anyone seen a statement from Mr William G Bollinger the well know billionaire making clear that this bid is not from him or a company associated with him - for the sake of avoiding any reputational damage? Because I haven’t and the Bollinger name has been linked with this bid all week now. Or are some people suggesting he is behind a fake bid to make his “mates” a few extra thousands on their warrants?

Sarawak is pursuing a policy of actively preferring Sarawakian companies developing Sarawakian nationals in building their recently repatriated oil sector. Not only have UPL proved their commitment to this over years, but they have worked with the regulatory body Petros for 18 months on this area so have all the specific knowledge required and have developed the close working relationships with the neighbouring Brunei oil company. Not to mention the political connections of the Board, main shareholders etc….. Not easy to find another company in Sarawak which ticks all these boxes. But recommend you research thencompany, Petros, Sarawak policy re commitment to local skills development, Brunei strategy for future oil investments - and draw your own conclusions.
