This is a niche medical technology business where the products are being used now by oncologists to aid the treatment of Glioblastoma (GBM). GBM has an incidence of two to three per 100,000 adults per year, and accounts for 52 percent of all primary brain tumours. Overall, GBM accounts for about 17 percent of all tumours of the brain (primary and metastatic). Brain cancer has the highest per-patient initial cost of care for any cancer group, with an annualised mean net cost of care approaching $150,000.
In this context IQAI's last RNS stated "By combining multi-parameter magnetic resonance (MR) data and leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms,IB CAD will provide a structured way in which infiltrating tumour cells can be identified. In effect,IB CAD will have the potential to detect and identify sites of infiltrating tumour growth not visible with current imaging methods. IB CAD has the potential to detect tumour cells in non-contrast enhancing regions, thus providing the ultimate in early detection, a key advancement for cancer treatment. This technology has the potential to disrupt the way surgery is performed, how radiation treatments are planned, and how treatment therapy is assessed."
The CEO has recently indicated there are likely to be further RNS to come: " A number of new ideas and projects are under preparation by the IB team and I will be communicating in detail on these over coming weeks".
The relationship between the underlying reality of this enterprise and the market value of the Company's shares is truly unfathomable. A few trades with a total value of say, £15k can result in a 5-15% movement in the share price. There seems to be no analyst research or institutional shareholders - probably because of the low market cap. Go figure!
It is pretty standard to include a buy back resolution in the table of resolutions. It does not indicate an intention to buy however, as you will see with all the other plcs including this resolution in their AGMs
