Eskom agreement will definitely have some positive effect on SP. It's more likely +3% on the day of the news, and indirectly +20% through production increase in long terms. This news might trigger off bullish settings in trade-algos.
No surprise here as algo-trades dominate over real investors. But technical algos do not look perfect if worked out so low P/E. I believe miscalculation will be recognized sooner or later. Otherwise investments for dividends would be lucrative business.
Also significant difference in SP between LSE and Johannesburg allows to buy at first and sell to second market immediately what can not be for a long.
Here is the link to DTA form: https://www.filemail.com/d/sinmdeaeoderkol
The link is valid only 7 days, - I did it as free upload.
I keep shares at Invest Direct Account.
In 2020-2022, I tried to reclaim the deducted 20%, and failed. This year, the tax was not deducted automatically because of DTA form had been submitted before payment day. Submitted the form on 3rd December. Anyway I pay tax on dividend but according UK legislation.
Forgot to mention. Trading platform is irrelevant. I was pushing my provider to resolve the issue of double taxation since 2020. And they could not. Solution was easy, - contacted PAF directly to register my name as tax residency of UK.
Most of investors see LSE reports which shows P/E = 6.0. However, in my opinion main stoppage for SP comes from single dividend payment per year. Just realize what would be SP drop on payment day if PAF paid off 100% of profit (2.5p) instead of 29% (0.76p) this year. Next year it will be really challenging event for dividends if price does not catch earnings keeping P/E around 3. Quarterly payment might double the SP just by attracting new volumes/investors leaving on dividends. In any case, I would not worry while POG exceeds 1650$/oz.
Can anybody explain why SP dropped 15%?
My broker charges Stamp Duty for trading PAF even though it's AIM. Explaining that PAF is foreign company for UK. But in fact it's only the equity I pay SD on AIM which if full of foreign companies. How does it look with your broker? Do you pay stamp duty for PAF?
Thanks Mulder! I sent message to Hethen Hira. The deeper investigate the trades - the more suspicious. At 08:03:49 there was an order for only 40 shares which dropped the price by 1.9%. So the tiny order for only 6.47£ reduced the market capitalization by 6M.
No big issue, staff can hate while they work well and generate gold. Egypt is not the place where company would care about employees. If someone stops working, they will continue to hate but unemployed. Vacancy will not last long. What is the problem?
