Plus....the fact that the number of deaths were higher in the 2x group is likely to point to the fact that those people were much older, which as we know puts them at the higher end of the risk spectrum. This data, without additional factors included is inconclusive and potentially misleading

Those numbers are pretty meaningless without knowing the total number of infections.

Maybe many of the population aren't aware that you can still potentially contract CV19 after 2x vax, but the fact is that the chances of COVID causing serious problems was low anyway, and now that low number has been reduced by 90%....in other words the chance of someone who is double vaccinated being hospitalised by CV19 is vanishingly small.

Also, the chances of someone contracting covid and being asymptomatic have also been severely reduced, which will also massively help with transmission.

But yeah, a very very small proportion of the population may die from CV19 even after 2x vax.....but it really is incredibly small.

Chrisbak - That not true, people who are fully vaccinated are far less likely to pass on the virus.

more to the point....if Avacta were to bad mouth Porton down and then be approved, they would be effectively bad mouthing their own success........it's all starting to add up!

I think it's very interesting that Avacta weren't included in that article. The telegraph definitely know about Avacta, it's been everywhere and they're far more likely to know about them than some of the smaller organisations mentioned. This leads me to think that Avacta were approached for comment and they declined, which then leads me to think that they really are very close with Porton and don't want to rock the boat.

If there is one thing that's come from this dip it's that the trading volumes have finally woken up. Things were pretty stagnant, now we're seeing volumes like back in the 'old' days :-). Often it takes an event like this to wake a stock up and the recovery is incredible, couple this with some good news and Avacta has never looked cheaper!

ShareHOLDER value is very different to share trader value! He is delivering long term value, we all know where this will go. Anyone that has been here since pre-covid...me included...has seen serious value. Anyone that is willing to stay of for a year rather than a month is likely to see very very significant value. A CEO doesn't give a damn about the SP in a given week or even month, his job is to execute strategy, not tactics, that deliver long term sustainable growth in line with the company mission....if you don't like that then sell up...simple.

Good...and I will definitely be buying more, perfect timing with some other stocks reaching target and I never thought I'd get the opportunity to buy at this price! Bring it on

I think there must be a very large seller, the amount of large buys going in is amazing, more than I've seen for months. Obviously I'd rather the presentation had been about UK Gov buying billions worth today, but I'm happier than ever to sit this out.
