Once a darling of the stock market, Southern Cross's problems began when its model of developing properties and then selling them in sale-and-leaseback deals broke down. The financial crisis meant it struggled to sell assets. Now, the company is under pressure from local authorities cutting the number of patients they send to care homes and the fees they pay – due to public spending cuts – and leases that impose a 2.5pc annual rise in rents on Southern Cross's care homes and make it difficult to exit failing locations. With the latest warning from Southern Cross that its trading outlook "has seen a decline" since February 8, analysts at Panmure Gordon scrapped their annual forecasts "until we have clarification of the extent of the deterioration". Even at 6p, there is a lot of work for the company's management to do before investors should consider Southern Cross shares. Avoid.

Oxo-bio additives specialist, Symphony Environmental Technologies, has described the UK Environment Agency’s report, Life Cycle Assessment of Supermarket Carrier Bags, “good news for oxo-biodegradable bags”. However, when describing oxo-bio bags the report misses the fundamental point about oxo-biodegradable technology, according to Symphony. This is that the prodegradant additive included at manufacture turns ordinary plastic at the end of its useful life into a material with a completely different molecular structure. At that stage it is no longer a plastic and has become a material which is inherently biodegradable in the open environment in the same way as a leaf. Approximate timescale for degradation can be set at manufacture as required, added the company. Symphony also points out that the report says: “Starch-polyester blend bags have a higher global warming potential than conventional polymer bags, due to the increased weight of material in a bag, higher material-production impacts and a higher end-of-life impact in landfill.” The findings also confirm that biopolymer bags emit methane, which is a greenhouse gas 23 times more powerful than CO2, and that these bags have impacts upon photo-chemical oxidation.

Sorry to hear that ,never nice to take a hit ,especially when they seemed such a good company LOL ,maybe a nice calming cup of Chamomile tea and a choccy bikkie will ease the pain ? Was having a chat with a poster one night (wont mention names,but he is very well respected on here),and we agreed that it is a good reminder to log each day to see it in the account as a reminder of what can or may go wrong with shares and how risky they can be .Despite all our efforts the odds are stacked against the private investor which is why i feel it is imperative to help out fellow posters if you can .Th e other thing is to learn from your mistakes and turn things around ,which i hope you have done . Sorry i did buy a couple of punts recently,one i sold and the other i still hold ,have not posted on those boards though ,and i am not going to tell you which shares they are ok .

No i didnt ,i was not even posting on thse boards then ,i wish i had discovered this site before as it may have helped me make some bad investment decisions ,i very rarely give out tips on these boards ,unless it is to people i know or are fellow posters that i trust and trust me .I never buy shares as a punt and tip them ,if i do buy something for a punt i dont usually post on that board .Last time i had a punt was LGO ,you can check if you want ,i only got in one afternoon and sold the following morning ,about three months ago i think .My main holding s (apart from Char which i recently got back into ) i have been in for a long time . Sorry Cinders ,think of it as group therapy -)

People are not ,i openly admit that i have picked some dogs ,as i have mentioned many times to other posters ,still got Cattles in my account ,if i can hit a strike rate of 70-80 % then thats good enough for me .Many posters admit they make some bad calls ,and we all trade in different amounts and styles of profit taking ,as i say, topslice is the best for me ,others dont and hold for **** or bust often ,thats their choice .

I still prefer to put them all in a hat and see what comes out ! Lucky dip you might say .

Throwing darts is the timed honoured and only proven way to pick shares ,i wish you would stop misleading investors -) Next you will be claiming that spin the bottle is useless as well .

% increases ,i wil have to get apintplease to check those out (joke) . Strange pyschology you employ about people losing out if this share increases,surely that can be said about any share ?? Its not a question of the share going up or down its more the shameless ramping on all the boards that occurs which is distasteful to many posters ,surely you can see that ? We are never going to agree ,so lets just agree to disagree ,otherwise this could go on forever ,i have no vendetta at all ,just think some newbies need a break and a helping hand ,i know you wont agree with that .You play the high risk often illiquid shares that often move on low volumne ,your an experienced trader ,you know what your doing ,many are not so lucky and really cannot afford to take the risk ,i know they shouldnt but they do ,all i do now and again is call it how i see it ,its a jungle on here there are Lions and there are vultures ,plus a few elephants and snakes !! Can you really claim that you have the best interests of other investors at heart or do you purely trade for your own self interest ? I openly invite you to come on the Char board ,or IQE or Encore board as they are my 3 main holdings if you so desire to debate the merits or possible downside to these stocks ,cannot be fairer than that ,atb sector .

Its your money and your choice ,i would suggest you research this company thoroughly if your interested in buying in here .A cash shell eh .wonder where that curveball came from ,and as far as i can see the directors got shares in a placing didnt they ? All shares can be talked up as having massive potential ,whether certain shares really have that potential is a different matter entirely . Some people were saying the same thing about RGT recently ,have a look on that board and read the posts then see what happened to the company ,it may make you think again ,good luck whatever your decision .

In your post at 14.06 why did it end with humblepie your right ?? Talking to yourself again or is it more mysterious ,the plot thickens as to how many i.ds you have ?? Anyway humble/zara or whoever you are ,has this company made a loss every year for the last 5 years or not ? Simple answer will do regards sector .

i suppose you want to dig up some old incriminating post where i got something wrong i presume,when i was young and stupid no doubt ,well the strike rate isnt 100% never claim to get them all right . So we have gone from a simple wager to some threat that you have something on me? I have a good sense of humour do your worst .
