RE: Khaleda’s ministers return under Tarique17 Feb 2026 17:58
I wasn’t going to bother replying at first, but now I just can’t help myself …
Phulbari, (the poster lol) firstly, I am sure that you will be as close with your prediction now, as you were with your thoughts prior to the election, when you were trying to worry others by implying that we should consider what would happen if Jamaat won…
- Before you wrote your first post, did you even bother reading the header when you said “because there are new kids on the block “. The new Power and Energy Minister, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, is a far cry from being a new kid on the block!
- It’s a new government in power, who just in case you did not notice have very different views about using own coal, to the previous Hasina government and have said many times in their campaign not only that they would use “own Coal” but also the new Power and Energy Minister said “open pit mine”
- The share price has been suppressed, due to the recent placing, which is believed to now nearly be done with, and nothing to do with as you say again, “The share price remains depressed because there are new kids on the block,”
- The so-called angry mob as you call them from 20 years ago, was as you say, 20 years ago, and since then not only views of government, but just as importantly, the people and business leaders of Bangladesh views have also changed.
- When Tarique said about mining own coal in his Rangpur election rally, did you hear the crowd shouting Noooo, NO you didn’t, go and listen, they were shouting shouts of support!
- Since the election campaigning when using own coal has been mentioned plenty of times, have you heard of any protests or negative news articles (apart from one), as we have seen many times over the years while being invested in GCM while Hasina was in power, again, no we did not….
- Also a very big positive now is that the Interim Government have also written a new Energy Policy for the incoming government to follow, and this also has a massive increased use of coal between now and 2050!
- I am not stupid enough to think that there will not be issues along the way, but I am sure and hopeful these will be ironed out by Tarique and others in the BNP, but for you to come out, and compare the county of today, as being in the same position / light as it was 20 years ago, is just plain wrong and giving total miss information!!
Anyway, I could go on forever on how things have changed but you are stuck in the past, so we will agree to disagree….
