Julian I understand your logic but 40p was rejected by Flybe and I think you're missing the fact that the company wasn't in a strategic review situation at the time. This does make a difference in the order of how things transpire. Of course some could see a strategic review declaration as a sign of weakness but it's ambiguous. You got to really come back to the actual value of the company and the current market capitalisation.
Ask yourself if you think the company, with all of it assets and available cash, is worth just 20p per share or about £40million. It worth much more. They have more cash than that. Obviously 20p would be laughable and rejected.
Also, do you believe Flybe is strong and can carry on independently after a restructure? I believe they can and don't need a buyer.
