Longside read the first sentence of the RNS. As it even been proofread properly - it doesn't even make sense. Based on this you don't think the RNS could have errors, contain mistakes, have ommissions in it...you're starting to sound naive - you've never read a RNS that wasn't entirely correct? You've never seen a further RNS a few days later with amends, clarification and further developments? "Bahamas Petroleum, the oil and gas exploration company with significant prospective resources in licences in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas..."

Jimtheknow - I don't think anyone would think you were ramping. More likely deramping lol. Your last post sounded very emotional in fact. Almost rambling. You make a lot of assumptipns on that post. "Undoubtably gone" lol. You're assuming the exclusivity agreement is needed for a deal to be done with the major. You're assuming BPC had a disagreement (beyond that which takes place during usual negotations) with the major. You're assuming the major will make the best offer and is what will be considered to be the best suitor.

Barnaby that's an outstanding post from you and in terms of posts so far today is in the running for post of the day as far as I'm concerned: "Totally agree. MQ were taken on (as far as we know) once already into the exclusivity period and, it looks like, the BPC board had gotten us into that. If MQ had been there as soon as things started hitting up then maybe a different process would have ensured when they got indicative offers from all interested parties before deciding who to offer exclusivity to."

Jimtheknow I certainly don't interpret the RNS as BPC ceasing the renewal of exclusivity and I don't see how it can be interpreted that way actually. The major is in control of renewing it - that's a given. You're right though, it's likely the particulars of the deal couldn't be agreed. The major is then calling BPC's bluff and saying go find another deal then, negotiations have been started with a low ball cheeky offer. BPC are being strong in their negotations and not taking any carp deals and protecting their shareholders and themselves. It's speculation based on the vague, ambiguous RNS IMHO but I'm sure you see the logic in what I'm saying.

Longside then let us know why you think the major didn't waive the remainder of the exclusivity period? It seems strange if deal is off.

Kapkina sorry I missed your post below. It's a very good post IMHO...I couldn't have put it better myself: "They are required to inform the market about price se sensitive info. But they also have some flexibility in phrasing it and it is the job of the market to interpret it.  Possibly they decided to state the fact of the notice of the termination of exclusivity. Giving up a partial info and knowing the likely reaction of the share price they may possibly thought to buy shares at 2p for them, friends or family b4 the deal is announced?"

Kapkina - why hurt the share price with vague wording? Come on, you know what AIM is like. I've seen bad RNS followed by good RNS many times. Look at the share price performance of Ascent Resources recently. Into the 0.30s back to 0.70s, 0.80s, 1.20s. Currently .80s. Down on negatively worded RNS. Up 2 days later on good RNS. This is AIM casino you know there's manipulation.

Jimtheknow that's a good post. The only thing I might disagree with are chances of a deal RNS before 31st August. There may be one from the major as they are still in the exclusivity period and they haven't waived it. I'd have expected them to waive it with immediate effect as courtesey if nothing else rather than leaving BPC to hang until the end of the month. I challenge anyone to argue with this logic and as I said this points to the deal being in final stages and BPC possibly even playing hard to get saying that if the major doesn't come forth with a BETTER offer (going with the assumption there's been a cheeky low ball offer) they will seek other offers come 1at September. To the doommongers, naysayers and derampers how do you account for the major not waiving their exclusivity with immediate effect, if the deal if off and they've, indeed, walked away?

If the major was no longer interested and the deal was off then why doesn't the RNS explicitly state that the major has waived the remainder of the exclusivity period?? Or else this leaves BPC in a position of having to waiting until 1st September to continue/commence negotations with other interested parties.

Special666 - about the bullying comment it's typical in these scenarios for larger companies to push the smaller companies around. Do your research into how negotations work if you don't understand this. It's obvious that the companies couldn't agree the terms.

Special666 - you're guessing that the major has walked. They haven't renewed the exclusivity agreement, this doesn't mean the deal is off. The RNS doesn't state that the deal is off, it states the exclusivity will end 31st August. I don't know if they've walked or not. You assume they have walked and that it was the data not the deal. The share price is the market opinion which has been overshot IMHO. You think this will go to 1p and below fine. I think this will recover and the drop is overdone in typical AIM casino manipulation fashion IMHO

Kapkina - yes exactly it appears that the major was bullying and MACQUARIE said help them negotiate better terms for a deal. I think the deal may be close maybe even next week IMHO

Anyone who is saying the major looks at the data and didn't think the oil was sufficient for commerciality is clueless. It was the terms of agreement that couldn't be agreed - BPC are in an even better negotiating position than ever now it would appear IMHO. You go and resd your broker views eith a negative spin on this though lol

Barnaby perhaps the major wasn't BPC's preferred suitor. The major was keen or wouldn't have extended for another month past the initial 3. I think the MMs have played a blinder with the share price following this RNS IMHO. They'll make money taking it down and then again into the recovery next week if it comes IMHO
