The resident troll Neptunes is a very bitter poster who claims to have an average of 17p in BPC. Obviously he blatantly deramps and uses deceptful tactics to try to drive the share price down further to average down. He has a beef with the company. He can't stand it. His motives are transparent.

I'm yet to see any of the deramper present a valid argument against this. These are biased posters with an agenda. Check their post history and you'll see obviously unhappy people, who have lost money on the stock market and are very bitter to others on here. Better to ignore their lies. Some of the derampers will even claim to have shares in BPC - they haven't...they are shorting it or looking for a cheaper entry.

The reason why I am 100% convinced that the major is still in negotiations, can be found in the following part of the RNS contained in Potter's quote:

"The company with which we have been in exclusive negotiations has elected not to extend further the period of exclusivity, which means we will receive no further exclusivity payments."

The predicate:
"The company with which we have been in exclusive negotiations has elected not to extend further the period of exclusivity..."

Followed by the outcome or consequence:

"...which means we will receive no further exclusivity payments."

Please note: the outcome or consequence is not that the major walked. And this would certainly have been stated if it was the case, as it's market sensitive. 

Notice keywords "have been" and "exclusive negotiations" in that sentence. Now remove "exclusive" and read the sentence. This shows the negotiations are still ongoing and that exclusivity will just be removed after today.

If negotiations had ended the sentence would have read something like:

"The company with which we have been in exclusive negotiations has elected not to extend further the period of exclusivity, which means we will receive no further exclusivity payments and negotiations have ceased."

Or

"The company with which we have been in exclusive negotiations has elected not to extend further the period of exclusivity, which means we will receive no further exclusivity payments and the major oil company and BPC are no longer in negotiations"

Therefore, the only NEGATIVE outcome of exclusivity ending is "...which means we will receive no further exclusivity payments."

The RNS portrays the ending of exclusivity as a POSITIVE because it allows a 3rd party to join existing negotiations between BPC and the major (SHELL) IMHO

Trek you said a week ago Friday 24th that people should sell because this would be in the 1.5p range soon. You actually advised people to sell. Are you regulated to provide said advice? The thing you should be doing is apologising for calling this wrong. You also are one of those who said it's "fact" that the major walked. This is a false statement for which there's no evidence. You can't say something is fact which is your opinion..dare to think for yourself instead of following the herd. I know how long you were invested here but no need to put a downer on it now for the new blood in town ;)

Also I agree with the comments made last night about more market communications in form of videos being required...these seemed to be more frequent years ago but not nowadays. I think we need a conference call to air our questions to the CEO.

In my opinion there's no need for a speeding ticket because we've already had the news on the 24th. Speeding ticket is usually issued when no RNS and abnormal volume and/or price movement. This price movement has been caused by sheeple following the herd. Market makers gapped this down that Friday morning causing stoplosses to be triggered and weak sellers to scramble for the sell button, many would not have even read nevermind digested the RNS. I mean many on this board have still misinterpreted the RNS IMHO and this isn't helped by certain market commentators. Some are very fickle and will always eventually lose on the stock market long term even if they sometimes get lucky. Usually because they don't have the emotional intelligence. The drop was overdone...the market overacted IMHO To quote someone from this board from the 24th: "When I called the broker he knew exactly who the company was I was wanting to sell before I could even spit it out. Sell sell she's tanking fast I said to him!!" This is part of his post, now notice the emotion in the rest of the post - is this a level headed guy who accurately understand the subtle nuances in the wording of the RNS or a sheeple? Thanks Keith, Jim - even the title of the RNS is 'Cessation of Exclusivity Agreement'. It's an upbeat RNS with clear focus that the only objective is to let us know only exclusivity as ended. Furthermore, the 10th July RNS that I've copied the bulk of below, can now be read simply with the ommission of the word "EXCLUSIVELY" and we can see the current state of play. Status quo is maintained as per last paragraph until we are informed otherwise. If breakdown of negotiations had occured, it would be considered a material development and the market would have been informed: "As previously announced, the Company is working exclusively with a major international oil company (the "Counterparty") to conclude a detailed technical evaluation of the Company's licences in The Bahamas, whilst also seeking to develop a commercial framework for a potential transaction. The Company confirms non-refundable cash payments have been received during this period consistent with the agreement with the Counterparty. The Company will update the market of any material developments as and when appropriate."
