Thanks Keith, Jim - even the title of the RNS is 'Cessation of Exclusivity Agreement'. It's an upbeat RNS with clear focus that the only objective is to let us know only exclusivity as ended.
Furthermore, the 10th July RNS that I've copied the bulk of below, can now be read simply with the ommission of the word "EXCLUSIVELY" and we can see the current state of play. Status quo is maintained as per last paragraph until we are informed otherwise. If breakdown of negotiations had occured, it would be considered a material development and the market would have been informed:
"As previously announced, the Company is working exclusively with a major international oil company (the "Counterparty") to conclude a detailed technical evaluation of the Company's licences in The Bahamas, whilst also seeking to develop a commercial framework for a potential transaction. The Company confirms non-refundable cash payments have been received during this period consistent with the agreement with the Counterparty.
The Company will update the market of any material developments as and when appropriate."
