TheGreatMaze - because majority shareholders won't accept a 2p bid, would be too cheap and cause bidding war. MA wants quick deal not bidding war. You ever been in an Ebay auction when people get carried away and bid too much lol. MA will want a quick clean bid to put off rivals instantly and bag the prize.

Dusterhater if it all goes wrong lol I sometimes unfortunately become a long term holder (LTH) :( or just cut losses and make it back in a few days elsewhere lol.

BigDano is right - market works on sentiment and will price in towards a minimum deal price - the market (i.e. majority of shareholders) believes a deal will be done minimum of 5p. Many of us believe this is now too cheap and 10p to 20p more likely. Should see near 5p early next week probably Monday without news.

Short term in 10 minutes, medium term is a day, long term is 3 days if it goes right and 1 week if it takes a little longer lol

Dusterhater long term for me in the stock market is a week at most if all goes well lol and I hit my profit target.

dusterhater - lolol I invest in rental property, mostly commercial these days, but gamble and speculate on the stock market. Even the bluechips are risky

Johnso - I'm not sure, I'm not even convinced there's that much debt - I think it's exagerrated media hype. These journalists once said UKOG was a fracking company with a headline then printed a small retraction online when contacted directly by UKOG. Can't trust anything papers say but they obviously help with the hype and buzz.

Johnson I been on a few takeovers in my time all through nominee (no physical share certificates held) and always straight back in account never cheque. Can't imagine receiving a huge cheque through the post...what if it gets lost in post and needs reissing. It just isn't a recognised risk of an ISA either - that you can put money into a takeover company then lose potentially many future years of ISA allowance. £100k for instancd would take about 5 years to add back in lol.

I'm hoping there's a leak about a bid before Sunday papers tomorrow. I think MA will want an explosive assult against the BoD in the Sunday papers. So a wipeput bid to put off any counterbids is actually likely so expecting minimum 7p maybe even 15 to 20p range. I can't see how MA would be doing anything else this weekend but planning this. Deals can be done quickly these days, over weekend, electronically...

I think when O2 was taken over by Telefonica years ago the takeover money when straight into my account not a cheque..cheque is old school so I doubt it?

Johnson mine's in stock and shares ISA and SIPP. No-ons wants a cheque :/ can't it just go into account it's already in? I thought with nominee account it goes to broker then same account?

Johnson - debt is £560mill. So it's not just how many more shares he buys in takeover it's current overall state of play..the debt he's taking on. That doesnt matter though - it's wherher he can make it profitable which he likely can given his track record. Some derampers say he'll wait for administration but that just ******, better to make a clean, ethical deal for his reputation and his business style.

Johnson - 5p still means mcap less than £100mill mcap. Which for a potential monster of s turnaround story is cheap don't you agree. Especially with the synergy with House of Frasier. I'm just trying to connect the dots here.

Bought originally £10700 at 2.04p but then another £20kk in around 2.5 and 2.7p so average is up. Hopefully 5p soon then

With £20k in my partners SIPP plus my £10700 we now have £30700 stake. Not an amount we can afford to lose

I mean Debenhams at 5p per shares. Mike is a billionaire, he already has 30% stake, why wouldn't he buy the rest at a cheap price lol?? What am I missing?
