FOMO rise tomorrow afternoon maybe?
Too near the date when we should know to make estimates of SP after the settlementy now. However I think we would have to have 2 serious negative event to result in a share prices less than we have now in say six months time. First a really bad settlement and secondly some serious delay to the purchase orders for the new nmaterials. So if one is prepared to wait six months I'm not sure there is a lot of risk in Nanoco at the moment. I accept there is always some risk, but I consider the risk/reward balance here is currently favouring reward. GLA (except shorters and trolls)
So do we think any extension request would have to lodged with the Judge tomorrow rather than over a weekend? And if an extension is requested would Nanoco under stock market rules have to issue an RNS immediately to notify the market or could they wait til 7:00 am Monday? I guess what I'm asking is: if we haven't had an 'extension rerquested' RNS before say Saturday morning could we assume that there will no extension?
Am I missing something. I assumed that taking things like 'expectations' etc into 'consideration' were expressions used to avoid being definitive or explicit about anything. They may, or may not, be used to set expectations but they revolve on themselves and mean nothing definite. I am not suggestion the following is the case here but let me give you an example. I want £1B pound. I deserve it, Now the other party offered me £0.95B and I was going to refuse (I deserve that £B) but my lawyers told me to take into consideration that normally I might expect to only achieve a much lower end amount. So all in all I took that in consideration and accepted the £0.95B instead of the £1B I wanted. So did I accept a low end amount?
Glad to see you final caught on Botbot. However although unlikely they could finish early ...or ask for an extension, so really we have absolutely no certainty about timing. That said best not to get our hopes up for any date before Monday as my guess is that is, although possible, fairly unlikely.. Then there is the question: does one even bother to get up before 7:00 on Monday to check for an RHS or just have a lie-in?
Just in time for Nanoco to ask for another few of tens of millions on the lump sum covering what would have been future royalties?
Ceejay, my expectation ... Monday, Why should Nanoco and Samsung's Lawyers stop us when they see we are having such fun.
@BotBot, just think of me as Mystic Meg, Price today down to near 36p as I guessed . Now let's hope the second part of my 'prediction' (the rise to the mid 40's turns out to be right as well. Well, that or even better the mid 400's !!
Basscadet, thanks for reply even if I was hoping for a different answer. Apple sometimes like to do things inhouse or use a range of external providers in their supply chains. I was hoping we might see them perhaps using Nanoco and others to perhaps replace/compete with Samsung. Perhaps I'm just dreaming.
Anyone have any views on the likelihood that Samsung will in the future have a near monopoly of QLED and micro| LED displays for most consumer products or could Nanoco have significant opportunities for producing products for e.g. Apple or LG screens, Plessey's MicroLEDs etc?
Bobtbot, I suspect tomorrow could be a down day to flush out any weakly held shares , back down to 36 and then a rise into the weekend to finish Freiday at say mid-forties. Just a guess, no evidence at all, but you asked.
Nanonano, I would love you to be correct, but I am trying not to expect a result too soon, so I am going with it probably being Monday morning before we see an RNS, , and then with a 50% chance it says give us more time. The judge signed the 30 day stay just before Midmight the 6th of January so to me that suggests the lawyers have the judges permission already to take up to just before Midnight on the 5th Feb. I really hope they finish early and there is no rextension because this board isn't much fun at the moment.
I doubt there is any chance of 'sensible' board until we get the details of any settlement. People are understandably tense on both sides. Probably best to only pop in now and again until everything has calmed down, and that may not happen immediately after the details are know, Some will be broadcasting how right they were, others will be seeking to explain why that was just luck. I am amazed at how certain people are that they are r ight, Let me be clear, I THINK we are going to get a good deal, but am I certain?... definitely not! All the best to those feeling the strain as we wait!
Yeah, On the other side there is a poster saying he has a source in Samsung and a deal has been done at ..., but the name of the poster suggests to me he is probably lying! I'm not trusting anyone on this till we see both the coming RNSs ; the one announcing the settlement and the second clarifying the first!
@Sammy88, Strictly it isn't 'delayed' yet is it? Also unless the sum is significant couldn't S just sweep it under a rug somewhere? I am really hoping they keep to the deadline. I can't see extra delay changing the settlement much and reading the repetitive 'low/high,I'm right you're wrong posts on this board has probably ended it's usefulness now. I think most people have either sold or are staying til the settlement so let's hope they put us our of our misery soon.

$3000 does seem like an awful lot of money!
Does anyone know whether BT is still in the states? Just wondered whether him coming home might signal the settlement was all wrapped up. God, this weekend is going to be nerve-racking. I'm assuming any deal won't come out before Monday!? When the deal does comes out I wonder whether it will be a good idea to give this board a miss for a few days, the crowing and lamentations by the people who called this right/wrong may be awful to read! Unless of course it is plum in the middle and everyone claims a win! Agggghhhhhh!
Yeah I realised that on second reading, sorry about being a bit slow on the uptake, but the point about Apple is still important. Markets value companies based on a variety of things including future expectations of income/growth. I have argued before that even if Nanoco has a big bank balance if it has no real prospects for income or growth it will be rated lowly otherwise investors might as well their own money in a Bank. There the CEO /Board won't waste the money in the bank chasing crazy ideas.
your post ;So accepting a $100M dollar net award after costs which equates to £81M, what market cap would you assign to a growth company with a tiny cash burn of £2.4M per annum and £86M cash in the bank?
Even if you believe the $100m |(and I think it is far to low) you missed out when describing the company...'and has a high probability of being an important provider of materials for the key next up and coming product for Apple'
Could change the estimated market cap considerably.
