RE: Boris's Oral Treatments - Is This Us?22 Apr 2021 18:02
It is worse than that Fruits, because sng had (still has?) the chance to reach approval with the tailwind of the urgency of this pandemic. This was a no brainer, accept a lower price and make sure you have gov, mhra, media fully on your side and with funding/other that surely would have been available even if the margins weren't great. But make sure you get that approval and in terms of share price, fomo would have taken care of it. This all assuming that it does work well and they have a good grasp of when and to whom should be given. But even that wasn't an issue with monoclonals. Companies wanted early apnyway, it is the health authorities that wanted in more severe cases first, because simply you never know and because in the beginning there weren't very large quantities available anyway (this is not to be compared to checking behind the sofa pillow to get to those 200 doses though, to keep things in context). However, govs and authorities are not stup1d, so long as the companies are not unreasonable and there is a strong rationale behind the treatments, they supported, evem through failed trials. The only exception to this is remdesivir, which was and remains a mess.
Anyway, this was so obvious, I have described it *precisely* since the first time RM mentioned remdesivit pricing and things got out of hand, many months ago.
