I agree with you there, where will the power come from ? Our government like most do what's popular without really thinking things out fully. Things like the site c damn will continue to happen and continue to cost way more than it should and it will be the tax payers who pick up the slack of our governments failings. I guess the point I am trying to get across is that we do not have unlimited time to sit on our hands. We need to start getting results and getting things moving the governments of the world are completely willing to do the irrational if it is popular. Do not underestimate the green push that is seeping from the left political leaners into the middle then the right.

As someone who works in refrigeration and hvac wholesale I understand your point but things are moving quicker than you think. I do not know the uk market but in Canada the government is throwing everything they can to get people off of fossil fuels. They are offering large rebates to home owners and even larger ones to low income families essentially making the units free so yes even poor people will be switching. Ductless splits can operate down to -20 C in heating mode with specialized units able to hit -40 and btu's are btu's so when we size these things we take in to consideration if the house is loose or tight and size accordingly. Aside from the rebates our provincial government has also made heat pumps sales tax free (-7%) and put a surcharge on fossil fuel ( +5%) . Now I can only speak about my local area but the change has been rapid and massive I would say ductless splits are outselling furnaces 10-1 and the market for retrofits is huge......now wether this makes sense from an energy stand point doesn't really matter it IS happening. How long do we have who knows but the change at least for home heating is happening quickly.

Right so seismic to be done then possible starting of drilling around June'ish then all the flow testing which seems to take forever after. This thing won't take off till next year if it ever does I'm guessing.

I don't think this is the pop off just yet. Things have moved so slowly down their I would not be surprised if it is quiet until after Christmas.
