Yes, but Mather's got to award these SOLG employees a package that prevents them from being poached by other miners which for all we know could be a threat to SOLG's future. It's a p-sser but what else can SOLG do at a no-cash expense....we can't see what Mather can see..he's no doubt aware of events that we aren't..for now my faith in Mather is still intact and don't overlook his skin in the game..he's no CEO with zero equity involvement

Option issuances is just another risk that equity investors must absorb when they expose their capital to listed company stock...we can only place our trust and faith in management that they do the right thing without abusing their authority ....our only insurance against such abuse is to sell our shares we own in that company....it's all about judgement

That's great stuff fella. Nice and simple to understand. Yes, the support's been breached but not, so far, supported by a volume increase. With trend-line analysis volume (interest in the stock) is so vital...volume is the oxygen that drives the price in both directions

there's a superb chartist on adv-fn called FXD (ticker for his thread)...he is very good and he uses support-resistance analysis for charts

I do prefer this trend-line analysis. Simple and easily understand and I suspect used by many, therefore applies in the real world..

For me it's neither the strike price or the length of the option but the number of shares it represents as a % of the total number of shares in issue. It's around 4% of the company. That's massive and I believe part of a corporate plan

I don't believe the options issuance news is just about employee remuneration. I believe it's Mather's plan to prevent a hostile bid from succeeding. I wouldn't at all be surprised if BHP and Newcrest were also part of this corporate plan.

ESOP's are used to deter hostile takeovers. Yes, this is an options plan but I suspect they could be triggered in the event of a takeover and used to prevent such a bid from succeeding

O789 - I believe politicians are entrusted to act morally not politically. Yes, some may say that's somewhat naive and contradictory but when politicians become political animals the moral space is vacated and we're left with abuse, violence, criminality and in the NT's case, wasted opportunities. It was encouraging to see Gunner respond morally (doing the right thing) rather than respond politically (for political convenience). But yes, you're right, I hate, neh I despise, the modern politician!!
