It's quite simple. The price adjusts in response to buyers and sellers AT VARIOUS TRADE SIZES. If the market is bereft of buyers at any price then any small degree of selling crushes the price downwards until a buyer arrives to buy the selling at lower prices. That's what you'r seeing (pardon the pun) here. without buying support at any price any selling is oppressive. Today, we have huge volume changing hands at agreed prices but who the buyers and sellers are we have no idea (it's usually retail (the public) but this week the activity is surely institutional) until the market informs us through a RNS
