The cores are interesting and maybe a geologist can translate some of the numbering - for example are the lots of 4 digit number like 1388 or 1416, possibly refering the metres?

Additionally the box labelling is "GHD 20 011" which relates to "Alpala" drilling in 2020. I am not sure we have had any 2020 drill results from Alpala so clearly something interesting is happening!

(Worth noting drilling releases; PDH = Porvenir, BDH = Blanca, LDH = La Hueca with Rio drills to be mobilised late-October)

If the PFS isn't value accretive the market will simply dismiss it and accept it's already baked into SOLG's current valuation. The PFS must surprise on the upside in whatever way it can. I'm not suggesting being creative with the truth but improved method of extraction and processing to slash production costs etc

We observe that chalcopyrite contents of up to 6% appear to imply that assays of up to 2% copper may be achieved in parts of the mineralised intersection.
This first hole aims to test the ground below a surface outcrop of mineralisation “that returned a highly prospective open-ended rock-saw channel assay result in Cacharposa Creek. The assay results (announced 7 May 2019) exhibit an approximate 1:1 copper (%) to gold (g/t) ratio as 147.8m @ 0.69% CuEq (0.43 g/t Au, 0.37% Cu) including, 82.63m @ 1.08% CuEq (0.71 g/t Au, 0.55% Cu). An approximate 1:1 copper to gold ratio is also expected from drill core assays”.

M365 - I agree. I get nervous with bullish public statements without published assays but it's utterly inconceivable Mather, Garwin, Ward etc would act in a manner that is contrary to what we now expect of them....hopeful...cheers

pern - I am hoping and indeed 'praying' SOLG management's recent bullish statements on non-Cascabel activity is evidence based and not an attempt to get the price up for fear of a low ball bid....I reckon it's the former as I believe Mather et al have a pretty good idea of what we have and have no qualms in saying so in public statements, interviews and presentations

What is odd is the neutered price action of both SOLG and CGP. Both are currently struggling to make progress, in tandem. I wonder if there's a connection there?

Over the last month or so Mather and Ward have been using terms like 'certain discoveries', 'more Tier 1's to come' and 'Solgold's greatest moments'. Is this wise before the market is even informed of drilling updates and assay results?

What happens if reported results (drilling and assays) fail to live up to the hyperbole used in their interviews and presentations?

Conclusion: After intersecting almost 900m of visual mineralisation in its first hole at Cacharposa Creek Solgold’s second hole has penetrated 258m of similar visual mineralisation so far with around another 380m of drilling to reach its planned target depth of 750m. Although assays are still awaited to confirm the grades, the initial success of the Porvenir exploration vindicates the Solgold exploration model which was honed during the discovery and evaluation of the Alpala deposit in northern Ecuador and gives Solgold a deep insight into the geological controls of mineralisation and into the effective exploration management of its Ecuadorean project portfolio. We look forward to the initial assay results from Porvenir.

Again, BHP and Newcrest DO NOT WANT to be shareholders of SOLG. BHP and Newcrest want ownership and control of 'on the ground' and 'in the ground' assets. It's what they do, mine and produce. They want reserves on their balance sheet and the income and cash from the sale of mine production.....what's the point of them being here if not to achieve that one sole purpose?

The market's response is a tad flaccid. I suspect it now wants the assays to dispel doubts. Mather's gonna look like a proper t-t if they don't support his 'large and rich' assertion. I can't believe he'd say such a thing without a high degree of confidence

but I'm certain we're in auction. I hope the market views this news positively and buy orders are struggling to execute
