HUR must now be enormously confident of continuing production from P6 to book 18 months in advance a supply vessel for its FPSO. That's one worry removed and that derisks the stock somewhat. Now we just need the oil price to behave itself

So that's 18 more months of P6 production dating from Dec 2022 taking us up to June 2024...think of the cashflow from that!

I'm sure P8 woud have been an exploration well (a side-track well from the main producer) with exploration risk and with no guarantee of finding anything. The assertion that P8 would have provided further additons to production is hypothetical not a statement of fact.

The cash will continue to build week in and week out. No debt and week in and week out the equity will just grow and grow. I see no reason why anyone would want to sell at the bottom when the new HUR is slowly taking shape. ABSTRACT

The Beetaloo sub-basin is a Mesoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic sedimentary basin that overlies the western extension of the McArthur Basin. The basin is bounded by several prominent structural elements including the Walton High to the North, the Bauhinia Shelf to the East, and the Helen Springs High to the South. The western margin is defined by the Daly Waters Arch, which separates the Beetaloo sub-basin from the Elsey Gravity Low, also referred to as the Gorrie Sub-basin.

The target source rock intervals of the Beetaloo sub-basin are found within the Mesoproterozoic Roper Group, a thick sedimentary package consisting of quartz sandstones, siltstones, and organic-rich siliceous mudstones. The Velkerri Formation (~1.4 billion years old) of the Roper Group has been identified as a prospective unconventional exploration target.

P8 would have been a drain on cash without guaranteed upside. There are other opportunities in the NS. Buy developed post-capex production using the freecash from P7....the upside risk still exceeds the downside risk
