The only one thing to remember.......18 Apr 2020 22:01
"Edenville has elected to stand down Rukwa employees and suspend production with immediate effect until the situation is resolved. "
They are not producing, they can say they can start at short notice, but that's jam tomorrow (jt).
I would average down, I would spend a bonus if there was an ounce of positive here. There isn't!!! What strategic partner would in their right mind sign up now? Edenville exist on borrowed money, postpone loan payments in favour of diluting warrants.
Health minister Ummy Mwalimu in a briefing on Friday said the new cases were reported in the commercial hub Dar es Salaam (38), semi-autonomous island of Zanzibar (10), Mwanza City on the shores of Lake Victoria (1), northern Kilimanjaro (1) eastern Pwani province (1), Lindi region (1), and Kagera in northwest Tanzania (1).
In response, Tanzanian President Declares 3 Days of National Prayer to Help Defeat Coronavirus.
This is not going to end well for the nation or I feel for Edenville.
The UK with all the social distancing and medical services in place has over 15,000 deaths and the Prime Minister stated the UK will be through the worst in 12 weeks. How many deaths are we anticipating in Tanzania? I can only image what the R value at the moment is in Tanzania. How long are we expecting the mine to be shut? Even when open they need trucks to shift it and customers open to buy it.
My own feeling will be that Edenville will keep the mine shut until the start of the next rainy season then blame the rainy season on low production. All the time borrowing money and diluting, then there will be consolidation. I'm still expecting the need to buy another washer crusher which will take up to a year to bring online proper.
As far as we know from the RNS we cannot fulfil the orders fully, although when they say 'up to 4,000' tonnes then even producing 1 tonne satisfies that criteria. Let's face it, it is worded 'up to' for a reason, but they can't pull the wool over our eyes.
Overall, while the mine is shut and money being borrowed I see this heading sub nominal value eventually.
Only time will tell if Edenville can survive the shut down, but from where I'm sitting, as a realist, it doesn't look good.
It's the first time that I've actually accepted but we may lose all our money on this one
