I've been looking at the tight timings given (text pasted below).
The inspector might not decide to hold an inquiry.
If so, could he/she issue a recommendation to ministers soon after the deadline of 25 October?
If so, ministers could accept this recommendation while the COP meeting is underway in Glasgow as an example of what the UK is doing.
This would make sense from a political point of view, but is it realistic? Advice needed from someone with experience of these inquiry processes.

The concerns seem to be the nature of the fuel, its novelty and how it fits into existing policies.
SAE must have considered these issues and have answers to hand.
Does anyone on the board have experience of such planning inquiries?
At least the letter provides a strict timetable outlining the various stages, so we might get a better idea of when this saga will come to a conclusion.

I did exactly the same!
The major topical selling points are that the power comes from the UK, is entirely predictable and provides a baseload that complements intermittent wind and solar.
Let's hope Kwazi Kwarteng sees the bigger picture and pushes for tidal power

Even if the amount of CfD money awarded is less than hoped for it would provide a revenue stream to address the going concern question facing SAE.

I then bought exactly the same number in my ISA.

Today's Guardian says that contracts for difference will have a pot earmarked for tidal technologies.
Results will be announced in December as expected.
Took opportunity to top up with 9735 shares this morning at 5.04 pence hoping that this is the bottom. Only time will tell...

Personally, I think the risk is worth it at this price.
Picked up 10,145 shares at 08:01 this morning.

Agree that the concerns are serious but known about before.
Operationally they have done well with increased income from generating electricity.
The "going concern" issue is flagged up clearly and remains unresolved.
If everything stays as it is they appear to have enough cash to get through the coming year, allowing contracts for difference and Wales decisions to be made.
High risk share but also high potential...
My eye caught the note pasted below, because someone on this BB was concerned that costs of decommissioning the power station might fall due soon:

"The SUP power station decommissioning provision is the present value of the best estimate of direct costs that may be incurred to restore the site of the SUP power station to a condition that complies with applicable legislation, which is anticipated to take place in approximately 2042."

This is a great update showing the wide range of projects that SAE is successfully delivering.

Agree this is a good development and that the political connections should help.

I guess this comment was aimed at me.
I didn't suggest anything, I simply gave a factual description of what I'd done.
One of the few facts we on this BB possess is how many shares we bought or sold, which is why I gave the number.
By the way, the shares were shown as "unknown" because the algorithm presumably couldn't decide whether it was a buy or a sell.
