'Skank' - how old are you? 5?
Grow up.
Agreed. Price action and results. 100%. We have both 1000p targets and a sell note at 390. It's all BS.
JP Morgan are renowned for trading against their own broker notes. They are all at the misinformation game to suit their own interests. Wouldn't surprise me if Barclays were buying.
It's not about it being discredited. It just isn't very good analysis.
With respect to Barclays, issuing a sell note and calling a bearish trend when the SP has been going sideways after a 60% fall isn't exactly great analysis. I hope people don't pay for that...
Surprising that no one has mentioned that in the US, it has been the biggest sell off of tech stocks since the dot-com boom. Whether or not DT follows Crowdstrike etc, or not is pretty much a moot point. It has followed the market trends. DT's own fall was further compounded by a very high starting point, Peel Hunt who clearly had an agenda to drive the price down (others who have shares where PH are involved will be aware of what a negative effect they can have and what a bounce can happen when they are removed), large sellers and the macro sector moves mentioned.
This really is about calling the bottom and the company delivering decent results to provoke a good recovery, when all the extraneous noise is stripped out.
There will be a rotation back into tech stocks. It's already showing signs of happening in the US as so many have fallen so far.
Ha, I hold AET too.
There is also accumulation happening in all the dips as I have shared a few times. Volume could be better but there is most certainly decent buying... For instance the late trades last night... Anyway apols for multiple posts. Hope the IR info was useful for some.
I'm pretty relaxed tbh. I expect decent results and I have a low average and cash to average down which if it backtested the 375 or below, I would do. Debated culling, decided against it for now for the above reasons. I appreciate not everyone is in the same position. I know some who tried similar trades have already bailed at a loss. The game is the game.
The Q update is coming mid-January, IR have confirmed to me. (13-15th were the two previous) The buyback is paused because we are in the period between the end of the associated period and the update. I suspect the current SP movements are simply taking advantage of that sudden removal of added buying pressure. For those around last year. The SP dived before the update released then absolutely flew afterwards. I would assume the buybacks should start again once the update is out.
I suggested a few more specifics around sharing major client wins and tech performance (such as against Log4j where DT is performing very well).
As a sidenote, they are one of Time Magazines 100 most influential companies. They will definitely be very aware of the need to turn this ship around. It must be very embarrassing for all concerned!
Yep it's for the company to address this now. Not about buybacks, purely about results. Time for the BoD to deliver.
It's one of those shares you wonder why everyone doesn't have in their portfolios. Predictable, profitable, easy to trade and easy to hold, sat at the fulcrum of an impending geo-political car crash, holding the keys to the vault.
Piper Sandler had a TP of 710p in September. I assume this is still unchanged.
Good stuff and to be expected as Peel Hunt's downgrade is now a 20% rise away.
Agreed on all 3 pts.
Interesting no buyback RNS today. I wonder if they were letting whatever was going on yesterday play out. I would not be surprised if there is one tomorrow and they have bought the dip today. We shall see.
You'd be brave to short into results where a co has been buying back its own shares in advance of releasing them.
Difficult to say, but one thing is for sure, it is the large operators and their own motives that are moving this ATM, not retail. Look how it has been driven down all day and right into close. It's very deliberately done.
Worth remembering that there are a lot more of those types of shareholders who have a vested interest in seeing this reclaim ground, rather than fall.
Have a good evening all.
Very possible and would explain the algo-heavy trading today, although you'd expect them to want to sell into strength rather than weakness and a rather lowly sub 400p SP.
Equally someone bought the 11m.
Also - you might see a backtest of the low - that's not uncommon - the SP has been clearly managed downwards today by an opportunistic entity.
And I do agree with Sheltie. The one factor that will drive a proper re-rate is the company and its performance. Not a buyback. But you might suspect that the company wouldn't have initiated a buyback ahead of releasing disappointing results. That would be absolute madness.
This is typical ranging, testing support and releasing shares at lows. Look at the trades today, 99% algo driven, interspersed by someone picking up shares in £20-25k batches at the lows.
I 100% agree that it is frustrating. You also always get negativity when the SP is at support levels. It is what it is.
You can however use it to your advantage, I have traded my holding 3x lately and now have an average below the 375 low. I suspect I am not the only one. The only reason for me is to protect my starting capital. As with all shares, once it starts rising sentiment will flip.

Lewis Goodall asking for any stories NN could feature, that they may have missed etc. Thought some AVCT holders might like to dm him.
