They clearly have at least one contract ready to publish but can't say anything about it yet, hence all the video clues. Most companies wouldn't care about dropping hints like that to private investors.
The company can't control it's share price (though I agree they could still be doing more) but they're executing on what they can control - manufacturing and selling their tests are higher levels than ever.
I think there's something there. Have added big time today personally.
Ethically, it would be great if the UK government bought out the patent (at £10/share!) and licensed it for pennies globally.
A bit like the Oxford vaccine, it’s the perfect way to keep brand UK going for another couple of decades - all while doing the right thing for the world.
Faron are using intravenous interferon which multiple studies have shown to have very low efficacy.
If the department of defence has awarded that $6m for further research imagine what’s waiting for a drug that actually works.
The way these trials go is that the full results will take 3-6 months and the final write up could be a year or more away.
BUT...
The exciting bit is things like interim read outs ans emergency use authorisations which are a lot more common than you might think.
When you’ve got a ward full of COVID patients on a trial and half of them miraculously get better you end up with an ethical imperative to start using the treatment prior to final results. Phase two has already ruled out any significant side effects.
If it’s clear within a few weeks that nebulised interferon beta is having even a 20% success rate (it will be 4x that) then emergency authorisation around the world will follow swiftly.
That’s why they’ve started manufacturing already.
And now, regardless of how the COVID P3 goes, they've got cash to push the COPD trial forward faster than they could ever have hoped for.
That really derisks the whole investment significantly for me.
