Hi Krusty , Mike, good points all yesterday and really pleased. What I am puzzled by is why the share price is just not moving. One idea I have is for Ed to give interviews when there is news on the site pro active investor which I am impressed with. Any thoughts either of you ?
It’s fun to speculate krusty. From previous comments Ed has made I think they are a very ambitious team and will not stop at grindrod. However, nothing new will happen until the debt level has been reduced. What’s great is that our income in dividends looks to be really firm for this year and into next whilst the debt reduction is happening .
Hi Krusty, grindrod yesterday put out there own update re vessel disposal and I think it means some profit was also used to reduce debt. However, unlike the last update they have not given any figure for profit that I have seen . I think there are many good points though in the update
1.NAV up
2. Dividend cover 2.7
3.Fleet market value now nearly US $ 1 billion
4.debt to asset ratio reduced below 40 %
5.gross cash yield 17.5
6.Net charter rate was 14500 compared to bhsi of 10331.
So overall I think company really well managed and moving in right direction. Just wish I had some more funds to invest. Will be interesting to hear Mikes views later and many thanks for yours. Bst rgds Sam
Shares are incorrectly shown as sells here. Buys on other sites. Huge number of buys first thing following very strong buy recommendation in Daily Mail yesterday. It persuaded me and I bought this morning. A prime candidate to be bought out in my book. Fingers crossed
Not received it yet but thought another dividend was paid out April 3 ? Always a time delay to receive in UK
Hi Krusty and gonsan. Thank you so much. Think I have worked out how to do that. Am so used to the II site that it will take a bit of time to get used to the new one. Bit of a nervous few days for me. Sold all my dollar TMI last Thursday and could not buy TMIP until this morning. Pleased to say all now reinvested with the vast bulk in the ISA. Took a bit of a hit in charges etc but now all safely hidden from the tax man and am looking forward to the first dividend which I will reinvest if it stays at these sort of levels. Personally I think that anything less than a pound is a bit of a bargain. Not long to wait for the update. Can't wait.
Happy Easter to you too Mike. I am equally very interested in the Grindrod price and what the company will do about it. Obviously an opportunity to mop up more shares but will they continue to keep the two companies separate. ? If yes why ? When I do pop into their HQ in London and if Ed is there then it is hopefully an opportunity to understand the company thinking more. Re the index, I was keeping an eye on the BHSI which has steadily frown over two months and I thought the BDI somewhat followed this. I am wrong again ! Ooops.
Hi Krusty, thank you. Pleased to hear what you say about HL as certainly impressed with their webpage layout. Do they have a dividend reinvestment facility as this is quite good with II ? Would be great if out of the TMIP divs I can purchase more shares cheaply. Have a great Easter. Charter rates being going up all week !
Thank you Morar and Mike for your comments and information . After a lot of phone calls my understanding is as follows. Shares for Taylor Maritime Investments can be bought on the LSE in either pounds , ticker TMIP, or UD dollars, ticker TMI. The former has this share chat page, the latter has a share chat page that gets no comments.
Interactive investor will trade on line TMI but not TMIP unless you phone them to order and complete successfully beforehand an appropriateness test. By comparison all other sites, including Bell and Hargreaves offer the opposite, ie trading pound shares as ticker TMIP with no tests or forms to be completed. They can then go in an ISA. In other words TMIP shares are treated like any other LSE share. As a result I have sold my TMI dollar shares and opened an ISA with Hargreaves in which to put some of them, the others I will put in a new Hargreaves trading account. Hope all this makes sense and lets hope the next quarterly update brings good news. Bst wishes Sam
Hi all, I hold these shares in interactive investor in dollars, sticker being TMI. That makes it difficult re ISA use as not least dividends have to be transferred into sterling . They also advised TMI could not be put in an ISA for the reasons of which I am still waiting. However, it would appear also the shares are also quoted in sterling as per this site . Can anyone shed light on this and how easy they find trading the shares ? Many thanks Sam ps particularly interested if there is a UK sterling share code
Thanks Mike, and nicely put. I also did your calculations and reached the same conclusions so am equally looking forward to the results . Amazing to think the company started near enough to the day two years ago and in that time has doubled the number of ships .
Mike, you are absolutely correct. Put down the dates in my diary from the company webpage but didn't read my own writing properly ! The other impression that I got from the presentation is the number one goal remains to get the debt from the acquisition down but that once that is achieved they would not rule out other acqutisions of other ship types to spread the risk . But that is obviously some time off. Ed made clear debt was seen as a luxury that they want to get rid of asap
Thanks Trek and Ceri, really appreciate that. Always better to check you have not missed something. . I am putting shares slowly but surely into isas , this will be one for post April 5. The company I am most invested in reports Friday. Taylor Maritime Investments. If you get chance would recommend having a look at their results and in particular any presentation they do. Great dividend four times a year and personally I think excellent candidate for capital growth. But as you always say Trek, DYOR !
