I agree that it is interesting that warrants were issued to those who provided the C$5m for shares in Volcanic at double the placing price, the former being exercisable at 80 cts and the latter being at 40cts. With the SP at 61cts today, those who took part in the placing have already made 50% in a very short space of time. I note that it was a non-brokered placing, which seems to me to be better than brokered as I believe it indicates that the new shareholders are in for the long term.
When the warrants are exercised, it will give Volcanic another C$10m, which will give them a total of C$15m, approximately £9.2m (at the current exchange rate), to fund the work on the Mandiana project, a decent sum.
Vienna, were you thinking as to whether any of those funds would be used to have an interest in whatever is reversed into SMA, or have I misunderstood?
As I pointed out on Monday, the value of SMA's holding in Volcanic has already doubled to just under £1m; so yes, very exciting and something not to lose sight of when considering investing in SMA. The Bod have said that they will hold on to the Volcanic shares whilst in the best interests of shareholders to do so and I expect them to retain them for some time to come.
We just need the RTO now.
