Hi everybody
This is my first and hopefully, I can hear you say my last post on this forum. As an engineer for nearly 50 years and having built up two companies over the past 34 years logic is usually the benchmark for most if not all of my decisions. However I have felt conflicted with the decision whether or not to vote yes or no to the proposed deal.
On Saturday my wife bought a DVD from the local supermarket of "The Darkest Hour" which we watched the following evening. It gave me a clearer idea of how I SHOULD vote and that is NO simply because what these people are doing is WRONG. I accept that I will lose money and I may lose all of it but when faced with a situation far worse than any of us are facing Winston turned to the ordinary people for his answer. I have already lost 75% of my investment and I know people will say 25% of something is better than 100% of nothing and they are of course correct but after watching that film I feel that I may lose money but I have gained something far more important. Can you imagine what would have happened if he had listened to his so called better informed advisers.
"Evil will prevail if good men do nothing"
This is in no way an attempt to sway anyone to my way of thinking but I just wanted someone to know that sometimes you just have to do what you feel is right and let the chips fall where they will.
Rant over
ps I was also wondering if anybody else was aware of the irony in this situation.
We used to export our cowards, liars, thieves and robbers to the colonies, it would appear they have reversed that policy.
