I think this is the prudent way forward.
My understanding is that BP produce from the sandstone formations on the Clair field, and I believe that they assume the underlying fractured basements are charging those reservoirs.
I'm no geologist, but I believe that Hurricane would be wise to begin targeting the sandstone first and foremost, whilst undertaking further study on how the fractured basements are potentially charging these reservoirs.
Although, I could be completely wrong I don't see how the potential oil in place within the sandstone could be within re-assed estimates as they haven't been touched, although I do generally agree with the approach the company has taken by significantly reducing in place resource estimates as further works should in reality/hopefully begin increasing these again.
For me, targeting the sandstone should be priority now.
