Krull, to be honest I have a basic idea but would have to look on the below to give a better answer, so I hope you don't mind if I post them instead. I will add, no doubt some EDR (or whichever company assuming there is one) directors would continue with the new company. This would only involve Rathlin and could be very lucrative for RBD shareholders. Reabold may continue to look for opportunities, or maybe would say 'job done'. The idea when the boys took over was to take advantage of opportunities at the time, and to dish the cash out after a few years. How much longer would they want to look for opportunities?

Krull, I think there are too many advantages to keeping Rathlin separate to Reabold to be honest.

Krull, in my opinion the intention all along was to make Rathlin into a public company. Reversing it into a company like Egdon would be a better option than doing an IPO.
I don't think Rathlin have any interests other than PEDL183 at the moment. Reabold own around 59% of Rathlin, so there is a lot of potential for RBD shareholders if Rathlin become a public company.

Thanks Uggy & GP. I must admit, for a number of reasons I would be quite keen, but appreciate your reservations. I think Rathlin will reverse into one of the small AIM listed oilers - I think I'd prefer it to be Egdon.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rathlin reverse into Egdon when West Newton's sold. Any views?

I understood that the PEDL183 licence area hadn't been fully explored, with the Ellerby and Spring Hill prospects in addition to West Newton, and there is a question of whether the Cadeby could extend to the coast and beyond. Most of Wytch Farm oil field is actually offshore from what I understand.
In view of this, assuming my understanding is correct, could what we've got not end up being the biggest find ever in the UK?

I'm wondering if there was a move from UJO to RBD today. Lots of late UJO sells, and lots of late RBD buys. Not that it makes a blind bit of difference to the end result of course. We'll all make a good profit. It's just that RBD shareholders will make 3 times the profit UJO shareholders will make ; ) Each to their own.

Phoebus, Cadeby looks pretty exciting, and could well make this the biggest find EVER in the UK. But if it's not commercial I have no doubt the success of Kirkham Abbey. IMO

As far as you saying you held shares or you'd made a great profit, well anyone can say that can't they? As far as Chris or Simon are concerned, they can only go by what you tell them.

Common sense also dictates that anyone who'd made 100% profit (lol) would be praising the company they'd invested in, not sIagging it off at every opportunity.

You do talk utter rubbish persimmon. What they've already proved at WNA is huge, and it's that that's convinced the II's to pile in. Anything at WNB takes it from being huge to being...........even huger!
