Wasn’t it Alistair Darling’s office that left a note on a treasury desk saying.... “there’s no money left”? I wouldn’t put any stead into any of his absurd comments.
And fwiw, I think OR is not half correct, but fully correct. We voted to join a trading community in the seventies and forty years later, without any public consultation ended up with their laws, rules and regulations. And no fish.

GK....probably one of your worst researched posts ever. The structures you quote were all built hundreds of years ago - e.g Tadcaster bridge was built in 1700. The others you mention in the 1800’s. The bridge in Italy was built in the 1960’s. Hardly comparable when the Tadcaster bridge was designed and built to take a few horses and carts, as were the others.
