It has also become even clearer that by the time P1 spuds the local rampers will have been thoroughly discredited. Folk need to be a lot warier of posters who tell them what they want to hear. I guess there are some folk who just want an echo chamber where they can bounce rosy scenarios around with like-minded individuals, but that is usually a recipe for losing money.

I was illustrating, for the folk on here who seem so blasé about risk, that stuff can happen, even on the IceMAX.

One man’s vitriol is another man’s honest opinion, but in any event I have only been posting my “vitriol” on here since 2016.

As for my posts about Leo Koot, I have been using the history of CERP to argue that he has been a more effective salesman than an oilman. Can you honestly not see where I am coming from there?

Easier said than done. As both a trade and an investment BPC is now a riskier proposition than it was just a couple of weeks ago. We know that risks are ever present in O&G. Stuff is always happening:

and it is a testament to everyone involved that stuff does not happen more often. The folk who want P1 to happen will downplay the risks and the folk who don’t will exaggerate them. Neither camp is in the business of offering genuine insight.

I’m not sure that the threatened legal action has much to do with objective risk assessment though. It seems to lie more at the interface between between law and politics. Against this background, the pre-drill excitement trade is not the absolute belter it once was - there is now a wall of worry to climb for that particular payoff.

Is the trade still worth it? I think so, for now, but it is not what it was.
