You might think of a tailings damn / pond/ pile along similar lines to a placer deposit.
Resource estimations are always that - estimations. People forget that. Obviously, the more you sample, the more accurate your estimation becomes.

I think it would be nice and helpful (and reassuring) to shareholders to release some form of RNS which broadly outlines the goals for 2020 (obviously without being able to give too much away) and what has been happening since the commercial agreement was signed. At present, it feels like there is a hiatus (certainly in the news department) and whilst there's no doubt things must be moving at a pace in the background, my perception is that the phrase 'no news is good news' cannot necessarily be applied!

Re: Katoro sampling - probably same assay techniques of drying, crushing and Fire Assay for gold and silver. Other metals probably ICP-MS or ICP-AAS / ES for analysis. So basically the same as for rock sampling and assaying of rock samples and core / chips.
The only difference will be that the samples may not be solid so any drilling may have to change to reflect that but techniques may include pitting, trencing, window sampling, augering with a shell auger, diamond drilling with triple tubes (to retain the samples) or even now (and possibly better still) sonic drilling. All depends on the anture of the tailings, if they are in a tailings pond, or pile and what they were mined from in the first place.

Following others' comments, I've reread the RNS about 6 times now and I'm sticking to what I said at 7.40am this morning. I see nothing in this 'relatively nothing' of an RNS to suggest the company might be taken private. All I can see is yet another potential change in strategy and focus of KIBO to now providing 'clean green' energy across Africa and 'watch this space'. I think the BoD / LC is trying to prepare the ground for announcing this 'yet another change' in focus.
In fairness, as I've indicated, they are having to run with the times - which are changing rapidly. But the RNS doesn't really give anybody any confidence whatsoever! Obviously contrary to its intention - maybe.
However, it is good to see that KIBO continues its tradition of releasing RNSs with at least one grammatical or typographical error. Just to keep us shareholders on our toes!

Mizman, I agree too. There's no denying there's a change in climate but the causes of change are far more complex (based on science, including geological science) than the general public are being led to believe. Base loads are difficult to supply with green energy alone. My intention was to imply that with more green energy in its portfolio, KIBO might be able to attract more 'ethically-focused' / 'green' investors and we might eventually see demand and a SP rise. Alternatively, a rise in SP might also be caused if there was tangible progress!

Yes, funding might be an issue on that. However, the cash burn at the moment can't be that high save for inflated salaries! There's no dramatic progress and MAST is being paid for from elsewhere isn't it? I'd be banging on more about clean coal technology being installed and investigations about sequestration / cleaning of the gases. But that's just me!

The BoD are clearly concerned about the perception of coal projects given the current 'climate crisis' (I'm not denying climate change here!).

For example, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the next RNS is an RNS about how KIBO is investing in a solar farm in Tanzania, Botswana, Kenya, Mozambique etc. etc.!! As a minimum, it might help in part to placate the climate / green / ethical investor.

I'm sure some of the reason (apart from the lack of rapid, confirmed delivery of projects) for the current prolonged slump in the SP is the coal association of the main three / four projects. It's been concerning me for a while in the sense that there does seem to be this drive for 'ethical / ecological investments' which is likely to steer some away from KIBO, despite the supposed 'good' that might be achieved by providing electricity to millions of people who might not already have it or by making existing supplies more reliable. It seems these aspects are now publicly concerning the BoD - so much so that they feel it necessary to have to write a letter to us....

I kept on missing Motorhead for years for various reasons and then when I finally got a ticket and was able to go to the gig, Lemmy went and died! Gutted is not the word! That Corn Exchange gig must have been awesome!

Brief aside:
Rainbow / Graham Bonnet - excellent singer. Never managed to see him in Rainbow but saw him play the Crewe Limelight club!! He had flu and battled on for about 3/4 of the gig. I was blown away when they played Eyes of the World though!

I totally agree. Aspiring to check out the latest band or just your favourite music and generally aspiring to anything used to be the order of the day. Today, it seems like it's just aspiring to have the lastest mobile. Much as I try with my own kids, all they are interested in is Youtube and sticking innane videos on Tik Tok - which is an issue in itself!
However, when one considers I've put my hard-earned money into 'things' like KIBO in the hope there might be something to give my kids one day, one wonders who might be having the last laugh! So as ever, fingers crossed for the turnaround!
