As a general hydrogen electrolyser question does anyone have time to post their views on IP protection ?

I was invested to a large degree in VRS graphene technology and a deal that was due to happen in China with projects being set up, Universities swapping professors and new hugh tech R&D developments specific to graphene being set up in China with the help of the Chinese Gov, Regional Leaders and Manchester Graphene Institute. Then came the delays, then the changes to plans then the vocally public point of how to protect the IP , which it was clearly stated that unless the specific tech was made wide spread across all regions meaning S Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand all paid up front for actual legally bonding deals then China would basically take and slightly alter the details to " reinvent " the years of VRS R&D and use it as theirs. To challenge what in effect would be the Chinese government in court would bust VRS in either years in court and costs.

It concerns me the degree China expands to domination in a fraction of the time Western societies move at. Just look at the lithium battery industry. EV car industry. Rare earth materials. China see's the chance and litterally puts a military operation project on high alert to control and challengers. The Gov boot firm on the throats of the tech especially energy and power control.

Lost a lof of money in GDL who had the best tech for gas methane extraction and got an original permit to operate in China, then the NOC step in and decline further drilling whilst bringing in their own.

I just read cummins "may" get a 50/50 deal with Sinopec.
May ... I can see China opening up a factory 10x the size of most and flooding the market. Its what they do and they do it at Elon Musk speed. Built within 3 months.

I note Nel's Heroya electrolyser factor has already had IT looking at the factory of 1GW and have found savings where by they can expand to fully automated 2GW.

Now I go back to China. Imagine what they have planned !

Nel a global leader already having provided upwards of 2,800+ electrolysers and bang on the money with the NEW automated factory to churn out electrolysers 24/7 and expansion capabilities at Heroya plant of 2 GIGA WATT per year. That is massive.

I am happy to say openly that on ITM I look like I was wrong to doubt.

I see covid reducing movement of engineering product as mentioned by most Hydro CEO's which without question has lead to a slow down in project developments and progresses worldwide. I still see covid as being a huge issue globally as even in the next 6 months a vaccine will be slow and take up reduced so transmittion looks to be with us for a very long time , keep in mind international travel and as China are finding , re-infection from outside the boarders.

Thank god Biden has greased the wheels in the US and is at least oiling the door hinges for Trump to sulk off, only to become an oil and gas superhero to his followers, so we most certainly have not heard the last on gas and oil.

"If" a deal can be struck then all the better but again the EU will protect very heavily their own fading economies and especially the stars of the future in hydrogen. Parts and engineering supplies are the concern but glad to have Linde / BOC as a major partner. How Brexit plays out could yet get pretty funky.

After having an energy day presentation yesterday Cummins sp dropped but Nikola Corp share price rose which is great for NEL asa.

Obviously those who saw the US presentation went off and bought in to Nikola. Nikola are a large customer for NEL not Cummins, this does now seem like a big boost to the confidence of advancement if the fuelling stations by Nikola due to be announce before year end ie within 6 weeks. The PR for Nel should be pretty helpful for the Nel sp and will get global coverage. Keep in mind Hexagon Composites and Hexagon Purus who are partners of Nel in the purchases of electrolysers from NEL and the transportation of hydrogen produced by electrolysers around the world in the fuel packs and specific hydrogen containers. Just a suggestion.
