Max, when you look behind the scenes the council as in many areas just don't have the know how to deal with unemployed, immigration in to the area and social tension. The industrial side of Direby has good and bad. Rolls Royce already closing down sites and rumours of a full pull out from Direby to Seattle. These have been around for a good few years but the closing of the marine r&d hit Direby hard. I think the rest will follow. The light at the end of the tunnel is the small cap engineering companies are flourishing, but they are small.
I met the CEO of Pentaxia and they are looking to increase from 900;to 2,000 staff by Q4 2019. Wonder why and what the material is they are building successes on @@. From the horse's mouth.
Anyone know what Chelmsford has to offer Direby ....
Max, do D you go to the Harley Gallery near Worksop or Cresswell Crafts , The Beast if Bolsover MP Skinner's favourite place in the world ? To all it's a fabulous geological site with caves for the kids and woolly mammoth exhibitions. Nice for picnics and short walks when the weather is dry.
Now I cannot ignore the mention of football. Living in my tree I see very little football and historically the decades pass by and both Forest and Direby have generally been poor with little football as such being played. This season however may be quite the competition. Still pains me to pay to watch either, as I still think I could do much better, ex rams trainee. I was the Frank Worthington of the local scene, so said Leicester legend Alan Birchnall.
All the best here and just hold what you have and buy the shorters dips.
