Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Glencore have been part funding this project since 2013 or am I wrong ? The project team is MPD Congo SA, who are owned jointly by Glencore and the ZIOC through Jumelles. Can't believe people need a tweet to give them confidence Glencore are involved in this project. In the future please just pick up the phone and speak to Andrew; he's a legend and will tell you as much as he can. ATB Riski
Key phrase here is: "Jumelles as a member of the Glencore group has the opportunity to utilise Glencore's extensive Iron Ore trading network." Suggests to me that Glencore will likely be the offtaker if the products are acceptable to their clients. Cheers Riski
Hi No.1SS, I agree, this fantastic news for Sundance and the RoC; No doubt other Chinese consortiums are looking at other iron ore mines in west africa. Sundance’s CEO Giulio Casello expressed joy towards the deal, and highlighted the collaborative effort the companies will be taking on the Mbalam-Nabeba project going forward. “This is a transformational deal for Sundance and its shareholders because it delivers in one agreement a partner in AustSino who has the foresight, credibility and business network to enable Sundance to advance development of the Mbalam-Nabeba iron ore project and the repayment of the outstanding convertible notes in a very acceptable manner,” he said. As a comparison to zanaga, the Mbalam-Nabeba mines first stage would be the production of a Direct Shipping Ore-quality sinter fines product averaging 62% FE for the first 12 years. Cheers
Hi MM, Interesting thanks for that. Talking about neighbours, good to see Sundance resources get their act together: "In the latest bid to save the company and fund its flagship Mbalam-Nabeba project, which straddles the borders of the Cameroon and the Republic of Congo, the Chinese-backed AustSino Resources has agreed to inject $58 million into Sundance via a placement." https://thewest.com.au/business/mining/new-chinese-funding-deal-emerges-for-sundance-ng-b88971769z ATB Riski
Hi PBateman, "Honestly - I have seen this nonsense about market makers being short of shares or trying to manipulate the stock posted so many times, I'm at breaking point." Last month Matt Lofgran, Chief Executive Officer of Nostra Terra (NTOG), in an interview said a market maker contacted the company, hoping to acquire stock in a discounted placing, allowing them to balance their books against a short position. Maybe he was telling porkies.... but an in balance is perfectly normal in a fast moving stock. Plus MM are not confined by the usual FCA 0.5% disclosure as it is an activity that is normal within their role. HTH Riski PS. Is that your real name or the villain from American Physco.
Hi Sooty, Thanks for this. The "significantly lower capital cost" is an interesting line. Cheers Riski
Hi MM, Interesting article, thanks. From a geology POV - West Africa is comprised of the same rock type and similar geological formation as the Carajas System in South America. Probably from when the two continents were joined as one land mass. This would indicates similar iron deposits on either side of the fracture zone ? Based on this i would assume Zanaga's products will be similar to Vale's Carajas products ? BR Riski
Hi Jinkar, I think Scott is referring to RNS 07.08.18 state : "As part of the ongoing work-streams, discussions are taking place with steel mills globally to consider further steps and tests that need to be taken in order to assess potential demand and pricing for Zanaga pellets and pellet feed concentrate." Hi Scott, Can you please put IMO or DYOR after your message to clarify your position to ensure there's no confusion on this board to if your posting facts or theories. ATB Riski
Hi Extrader, "Rather than regurgitate today's spot price for our non-existent product" Just to clarify, ZIOP product(s) have met all industry standard tests as determined by independent third party laboratories. These products include: 67% pellets 67.4% pellet feed concentrate 62% DSO So they do very much exist. FYI - The pellet market is a high value added supply constrained market with sales taking place on a bespoke basis and hence prices are not consistent across the board. What's important to understand is why there is a structural change in demand for higher grade fe%. The "regurgitate today's spot price" is the best indicator we have to prove the structural change theory and prove assurances of the long term economic benefit of producing high quality iron ore from all phases of the Project's development. Ps. It must be great knowing you are living rent free in their heads LOL.
Hi MM,
Fantastic research again. Thanks for efforts and I can ensure you it is highly appreciated by many on here.
I know this because you Twitter group was over subscribed (>50).
Unfortunately some on here are unable to express their anger in the real world (owning to their physical weakness, lack of bravery and/or conviction in real life), and manifest their emotions through a text-based medium to make themselves feel big.
Don't stop what your doing mate.
Sincerely,
A ZIOC LTH
Amazing MM, Boom indeed
Hi Extrader, Thanks for the recommendation I'll check it out. Oddly enough I'm actually a guitar enthusiast; having played many years and own some expensive equipment. Big fan of virtuoso artists such as Vai, Satriani, malmsteen etc. If you get a chance listen to the album Perspective by Jason Becker and read his story. It's truly inspirational and highlights the message your health is your REAL wealth. Anyway less of me, come on MM you tease. ATB Riski
That's great news Tom. Thank you for your research. ATB Riski
Hi Extrader, I'm happy that we both can agree that the port is part of the SEZ. It is also encouraging that the feasibility studies are complete and that a power station has been proposed at MOU level. Let's not forgot what was in the annual results rns: "As a result of the increased engagement between a number of the mining companies and CRBC, on 8 June 2018 a non-binding LOI was signed between five mining companies, including MPD Congo., the local operating entity of Jumelles Limited." Looks like the Chinese were driving these no -binding agreements in preparation for a certain event in Beijing last week ;). ATB riski
Hi Afric, You can lead a horse to water and all that. Cheers
Hi Extrader, The mineral port is part of the SEZ. That link you sent shows the port (nouveau port projete). Here is a better graphic (from cominco website) showing where zanaga will be located - https://twitter.com/Matthew_hopton/status/1037964735109574656?s=19 ATB Riski
Hi Guys, Just to clarify, the port is included on the official SEZ website. http://zes.gouv.cg/fr/zones-economiques-speciales/secteurs-ciblés/transformation-miniere Construction of a mineral port at Pointe-Noire. A consortium of Chinese companies, the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), has been chosen by the government for the construction of a mineral port in Pointe-Noire. The plan for its port facilities was presented to the authorities in January 2014: a 9 km2 complex with 31 berths. There is a power station, storage areas, a potash treatment plant, a smelter, a refinery (the 2nd of the country), a shopping center, etc. the scheme adopted for the exploitation of the mining products is thus the exit by a single place, the new mineral port, which will use almost all the operators. The technical sheet for this project has a vessel receiving capacity of up to 300,000 tonnes, with a total traffic capacity of 46 million tonnes. Of course, this new port will be linked to the CFCO route and the national highway system. The metallurgy and mechanics sector is characterized by a diverse set of activities with a significant presence in a large number of regions of the globe. This sector is perceived as one of the main drivers of the economy as much because of its many cross-cutting applications in all economic sectors as its great potential in terms of job creation.
Thanks Yoshie, It's so refreshing to hear some one with concerns actually contacted the company rather than jump onto forum in the hope of pi's answering them.... ATB Riski
Sandcrab post 29.08.18 - "Topaz has sold out, having correctly called the rise, having made 50%. Expects nothing for next 2 years, and forecasting 2p in the interim." Be careful of these con artists. Sad. ATB
