I mostly agree with brainwashing issues. My wife is Russian and for the last year her family skype calls have been extraordinary and depressing - Russian speaker oppression, peacekeeping mission, de-Nazification, saving Ukrainian brothers etc etc. But when Sunak, Biden, Trudeau etc turn up in Kyiv I get severe heeby geebies. I'm not arguing with an invasion - Russia had plenty of options open to it in preference to invasion so it has a horrible responsibility. But we have a group of politicians who have shat all over the freedoms of their populations and yet they all agree with one another on this issue and turn up smiling in Ukraine. We have never had the press in a worse state and we now know that many media outlets have been instructed and threatened to report on certain matters in a particular way (including Ukraine) and I don't see so much questioning about this at all. Hunter Bidens laptop contained some interesting Ukrainian deals long before any invasion but we were not allowed to see or discuss them. The only person to apparently challenge this system of thinking and political direction was Trump and he is now appearing in court on rape and secrecy charges. Just pressing the pause button on this gets me consigned to the conspiracy theorist bin but I don't care - western politics has never been in such a dire mess and it is difficult for me to know any more than a brainwashed Russian or pick the biggest schister. I definitely wouldn't go to war for any of their bank accounts.

The most upsetting thing amongst all these posts is the connection to Trevor Brooking - he was my idol when I was growing up. Talent, hard work, reliability, scoring touch and bucket loads of humility and decency. If you had chosen MotherTheresa as your sign in then that would have been less blasphemous.

I actually agree with your pessimism because to be hopeful about this does not seem to be a healthy attitude. I also agree that the company could have done a lot more and I also agree it is not good enough in the way it chooses to respond to individual investors. HOWEVER, we have all had 4.5 years to come to terms with this. I still find an email to anyone to be welcome and reassuring. I don't understand the criticism in this context because both the company and those that pass on the messages are very likely to shrug their shoulders and say, 'what's the point?' Not only am I eternally grateful to Looed and others for their efforts but I am conscious of the fact that if we weren't to have a better picture of what has been going on over the last couple of years, via all that research, then it makes the likelihood of any value disappearing over the horizon far greater. In all seriousness - I had a piddly little amount of £1000 of shares in a company that seemed to all sense and purposes to go bust in 2001. I found that share in my parents house in 2018 and thought I would google it before I threw it away. I discovered that it became a shell company that Oryx International took over in 2006 and which got converted at a rate of whatever so long as you had a certain number of shares etc otherwise they were liquidated. The Oryx chart got me excited and I then spent months trying to contact registrars who no longer existed. I sent email after email to people who had no real desire to find these shares and fobbed me off endlessly until I finally sent a Subject Access Request which got to the bottom of things. It transpired that I had missed a deadline to claim my missing shares by about 6 months and they had been sent to an account held by the High Court which becomes government property in a round about way. This cost me £12,000 or thereabouts. The moral is to screenshot anything you have if you need to because when a company makes no money from finding your shares then there is literally no motivation to find them on your behalf.

'I see from my trading account..' - if you read the RNS pages that will show you that the suspension occurred on 24th December 2018 and it's now the back end of February 2023. I would have thought a couple of thousand shareholders went to their graves minus their funds or even details as to how to pass any monies onto their loved ones. You seem relaxed about it though so just wait for a notification from the company or check back again in 2028.
